    Dear Planetary Helpers,

Please note: Please be patient and we'll get back to you ASAP, We are few and there's much to do!

We acknowledge that our beautiful Earth is changing rapidly due to human impacts. Help us experiment with living simply, consciously and peacefully no matter what we face. Together we choose to thrive and be resilient. Our main goal is to live sustainable by honoring the planet, her soil and growing organic vegetables and fruit for ourselves and the wider community. Currently we donate our produce to the local free food bank store, volunteers, students and fundraisers.

We were awarded funds to complete work on a 22' trailer as a farm and emergency response Office and First Aid station. As an off grid farm we can offer peoples some services in disaster events. We completed our Emergency Response Office ERO and First Aid Office. Ham radio is set up for communications if nothing else is working. We do have internet available now in some areas and most of the time through Further Reach

We provide camping places for tents or RV type camper and some beds in the community house and a travel trailer. We can provide hot showers, flush and composting toilets. A plant-based only kitchen is complete with what is needed. We keep a clean environment with fresh air, clean water and lots of organic nourishing foods.

We would like to host, long-term, a single or a couple who have garden and/or some basic tool experience. We use Bio-intensive gardening methods and want to continue building our veganic/closed-loop method to nourish the soil and plants and all life

Notice: We are a non-profit (501c3) charitable farm and this new venture will not be producing income for the farm for at least two years. We would enjoy some volunteers that have garden skills but we are always ready to work with those wanting to learn. We have hosted many since 2017 and it's been a great adventure for all involved.

An aspect of our community is that we value substance-free and clear-minded folks in our communal areas such as the common house, garden and while working on projects. This includes cannabis, alcohol, nicotine etc. We share a belief that this creates a safer and easier environment for clear communication and working harmoniously together..What you do off property is of course up to you, as long as it doesn't reflect poorly on our organization !

If you are very community oriented, curious, looking for a shared garden, alternative energy sources, natural building, sustainable practices, and plant-based eating values... then we would especially enjoy hearing from you. If you are looking to live and take part in our Vision and Mission then we encourage you to come as a Workaway and stay for awhile and see if it's a match for you in a more long-term way.

On another subject: We are learning how many folks are sensitive to products containing the ingredient: Fragrance. Fragrances are chemicals ingredients that are hazards to health and well-being. Please read all labels on lotions, potions, shampoos, conditioners, laundry soap and other products you may use. Thank you for taking the time to be conscious of what you bring into the community. Aromatherapy is vastly different if they are quality made...but may still be an irritant to some.

Our diet in our community areas is plant-based for its sustainability, lower environmental impact, less waste and freedom from killing industries, as much as possible. We try to have a beautiful year-round garden for much of our food. We buy bulk legumes and grains. Our big greenhouse and hoop-house help to extend our growing season and are places for plants and people to hang out and relax. We will be glad to share what we know and you are welcome to experiment in the kitchen with our vegan and raw recipe books.

Our Community Land Trust has the deed to 27 acres of plants and mixed Redwood forest 2 miles inland from the Pacific coast of western Mendocino county in California. We have a secluded parcel and yet are only a short, easy biking distance from the small town of Ft Bragg and the the coastal trails.

We are located about 3-4 hours drive north of San Francisco. The Mendocino Transit Authority MTA can bring folks here by bus from Santa Rosa, Ukiah or Willetts.

We are self-governed with a 4 member Leadership Circle and learning to use the concepts of Sociocracy for our meetings, proposals and decision-making. We are learning, teaching and practicing Marshall Rosenberg's Non-violent Communication otherwise know as Compassionate Communication. We enjoy sharing in discussions on these and other topics. We have a growing library to share with our guests and occasionally videos.

We hope that you may find yourself a niche here for however long to enjoy the beauty and peace of the farm.

Exploring the coastal headlands and Redwood forest opportunities are everywhere. Redwood forest is in process of being protected from rampant logging. Wonderful trails for hiking and mountain biking, Yoga, dancing, music and art are around here too. We have a few extra bikes to take to the trails or town.

We especially like to engage in gardening projects: weeding, planting, harvesting, preserving harvest, food storage cellar, organizing. cleaning, signage and art. Maybe a mural? Computer, social media and website assistance always appreciated on the side.

So much is happening and we could use self-motivated, upbeat and team-players to bring about the Vision for the Farm. Please see our website.

It is often quite cool (40s farenheit ) at night rainy in winter and layers on and off during the day. Summers may have fog but rarely rain. We are warmer and less fog now in the garden area than past years.

If any of this sounds of interest please contact us and we'll meet and journey on life's path together for awhile.

    Alojamiento

This farm is in a "homesteading" phase .... we do need to have folks who can live without some of the usual amenities of a home.

We value and practice conservation of resources. . We live off the grid and have limited solar power and battery life in the winter but enough to take care of basic needs. Our well water is good and a solar pump fills our water storage for cooking, drinking and bathing. We have both composting and a flush toilet and hot showers. Garden produce is for all to enjoy. We still are dependent on propane mostly to supply our cooking and hot water needs. we'd love to build a cob oven.

    Algo más...

As mentioned before there is much to do in this area. Museums, forest, coast, ocean, harbor, kayaking, swimming, canoeing, community events abound. The inexpensive MTA bus travels around Ft Bragg and points around, connecting to San Francisco and beyond. We are 2 miles from Ft Bragg town and that could be biked, or we visit town by car and give rides.

The town is close and has many ways to access the internet and shops. Lucy's Laundry is in town near a little natural food store and has wifi. We have a great "solar dryer" set-up. Library in town is also available with printers, internet, and much more that the books.

We would like people to communicate compassionately, directly and honestly with each other. Beautifying our surrounding, respecting soil, air, plants, animals and humans is important to us. Quiet times between 10pm and 8am are appreciated. Sundays are "no motor" days on the farm.

The farm is open to the possibility that some long term stays could lead to residents who want to actively work toward greater sustainability and environmental healing from a farm that has what it takes to make it possible.. This may be something to consider if you are someone or a couple with leadership and farm skills and a desire to settle down and use them.

We are off-grid with good cell service. We recently received Further Reach internet service. One power pole is on our property near the entrance to our long lane. It does have grid power and internet. So, there is a possibility to host people with digital work needs.

We have primitive camp sites but can offer showers and composting toilets. Internet is with cell tower or internet device with good reception. We provide places to charge up batteries and phones.

The farm has two well-behaved McNab cattle dogs residents that are trained to stay within the boundaries of the 28 acres. They protect the garden from deer incursion as much as possible. We would prefer no additional animals but open to discussion.
