My Name is Jean but many people name me Enrique, I am 39 years and I am engineer.
I am living in a popular area of the city of Barcelona where there is a lot of human diversity and a lot of authenticity...
With some friends and neighbours, we've build a network of solidarity to help each others and build a community to improve our neighborhood and make it funnier.
WE LOOK AFTER GENEROUS TRAVELERS WHO ARE AWARE ABOUT THEIR CHANCE OF TRAVELLING FOR PLEASURE AND NOT BEING FORCED TO BECAUSE OF UNFORTUNATE CONTEXT IN THEIR COUNTRY OF ORIGIN !
(YESS WE LOVE BAGPACKERS to share with our local vulnerable neighbours we attend; but WE DO NOT APPRECIATE "BEGPACKERS" who want to save money by being hosted for free in order to spend it in parties and/or Barcelona expensive night-life...)
Our barrio is out of touristic interest but it's full of beautiful things to see and to do and wonderful humble authentic people if you are interested in community building and cross-cultural activities!
The apartment is about 90m2 and has 3 rooms : 1 for me and my partner, 1 for friends, 1 for volunteers.
The apartment has 1 bathroom with shower and toilets in the same place, 1 kitchen, 1 living room.
Volunteers are in the biggest room in 2 bunk beds so we can host a maximum of 4 to 6 volunteers.

As travelers are hosted in the apartment in a popular area of the city of Barcelona they will be directly in touch with the authentic local culture... through all the diversity you can find in Barcelona!
With some other neighbors we are developing some cultural and solidarity oriented activities to improve self-esteem of less fortunate people such as : carnaval organising, "festas majores", food-bank, volunteership, activities for kids during holidays, San Jordi, San Joan, etc...
Getting involved throughout a real social network of solidarity between neighbours, our guests travelers will discover a very friendly community full of iniciatives and will definitely be immersed into Spanish language, socially oriented activities and cross-cultural events!
Every week travelers will benefit from excursions, workshops, visits, Spanish classes, events and parties organized by committed neighbours !
As we are a network of help exchange, any skill is welcome. The main skills researched are about maintenance, cooking, cleaning, gardening, childcare, painting, repairing, refurbishing, language exchange English/Spanish, etc.

Some of us have a spare room in their apartment which has been converted in a travelers and friends dormitory with one or 2 bunkbeds
Food is bought by ourselves and we eat every day at 14hs for lunch and at 21hs for dinner.
For the breakfast, we offer seasonal fruits and muesli with milk or vegetal milk. If volunteers don't want to eat with us they just have to inform us in order we keep it in a food box for them 😉
We expect from volunteers they keep clean the kitchen and always order and wash stuff they used.
Our Barrios has 3 lines of metro (blue, green and yellow ones)

Disconnect to connect :) We don't have internet at home but the local (open 7/7 from 9am to 9pm and 15min walking from the apartment) where we develop activities has plenty of space where you can work and has an excellent conection! Then you can also work in the garden or in the patio when the weather is good (which is often the case in Barcelona!) :D
As in any big city in the world, parking is a nightmare especially with large vehicules.... BUT as community builders we know very well our territory and will be able to give you tips to park safe and free close to home 🏘️
