    Hi there

Im Mel, Im 50 years young and usually host work-awayers on my property in Far north Queensland. However I am in Melbourne for 2020 and plan to renovate and landscape my fathers home so he can live comfortably for a few more years in the house he built himself in 1967.

If you find yourself in Melbourne and loving it but don't love the expensive rents, for a few hours of work a week you can live with the locals in the "burbs".

I have some landscaping and gardening work planned. This will require a bit of digging, moving materials, planting, pruning, painting, staining and clean up. There are manual, electric and battery operated tools to use and learn to use.
Hats and glove and clothes you don't mind wrecking and getting dirty are recommended and if you don't have any we can supply.

Inside we will be taking down the old tiles, painting, preparing for the renovation, cleaning, moving things, storing other things.

You could also help with shopping and cooking meals and I can always use a hand with on line marketing and computer assistance if that is your thing?

I also build tiny houses on wheels as a bit of a hobby/job. So depending on what time of year you get here, we may do a bit of tiny house building as well.

We work well with open communication and honesty. For instance if there is something I suggest you do that you don't feel comfortable with, then speak up and we will find you another job. I have found that a number of people are scared of heights and don't like to climb ladders or get on roof tops, for example.

Please let us know your skill set up front and if you have a trade qualification, please let me know.

I am very easy going and relaxed by nature and have many years experience with people. I travelled the world for 7 years in my 20's and I know that good connections and experiences are invaluable but also up to all people involved. So if you are applying for unauthentic reasons, don't bother. If you can't look after yourself, be trustworthy and mindful of others, make a bed, work hard, ask questions, empower yourself, then maybe apply elsewhere.

This is a great place for you to:
    - Stay a few days and help out with the on-going jobs, and a good base to explore Melbourne. I will happily drive you to and from train stations and take you on some outings. Take you to where the locals hang out in Melbourne and take you to the mountains to breathe in the Eucalpts.

I anticipate about 22 hours a week and it can be in any arrangement that suits you, if you want to do 22 hours in 4 days and have 3 days to yourself that is fine with us.

Breakfast is help yourself. I will provide/cook most lunch and dinner meals - especially on work days. However I like the idea of you cooking some meals too and also feeling like you can help yourself to the kitchen when you want.

If you prefer to supply and make your own food that is fine too, and naturally the hours of energy exchange can also be negotiated based on that.

We don't have internet other than our phones. There is no TV here either.

Here is a hint for all of Australia - when you get a sim card, get TELSTRA (or BELONG, BOOST). They have more coverage in Australia than any other carriers.

I don't mind if you smoke, we just don't allow it in the house, and we ask that you empty your ashtrays regularly (and not in the house bin) so it does not stink.

The location is in suburbs and not in range of the bushfires.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

I am doing some small garden and home renovations to my fathers house where I live. So I just need some keen creative fun folk to help me with the moving, painting, scraping, digging, gardening, cleaning etc. I will be building a tiny house this year too, so depending n your timing that could be part of your experience too.
