Descripción
Ola! We are a small donkey rescue located in Sao Miguel of the Azores. We grow colors, veggies, fibers, and aromatics. We process poo into paper and we work to get kids in touch with nature. Our donkey farm is a two person adventure with many community members jumping in when they like. We currently have 8 donkeys and one 35 year old mule. We are always taking new donkeys and giving them care and looking for new families. We are located in the sunniest place on Sao Miguel. Lots of beaches near by and easy to travel around.

You will be submerged in the Azores culture with this project. Luis was born in this village with 15 siblings. You will meet a lot of very kind people who want to know about you and your culture. We always attend the small festivals here in our village and the donkeys work with schools in our community.
Ayuda
We need help with basic farming- weeding, harvesting, and planting . Taking care of animals - food, water, grooming, manure, fence building. They are really very sweet donkeys that you would be working with.
We will be working together most of the time. Could be a help if you could help share the cooking duties. 4-5 hours per day 5 days a week

Alojamiento
We have two options for accommodations. Located in my house is a very comfortable private room with bath. On the farm we have a tiny house with tiny bathroom. This option is more like camping but just built so brand new. Both are very safe and comfortable. I will purchase all food and we can share in the cooking. I will treat once a week to eating at a local restaurant to try new things. On the days off you will be in charge of your own cooking.
All food will be provided. You will help with cooking, shopping, and cleaning. Sometimes we will eat out together at local restaurants and I will cover this cost as well.

Never had an experience with donkeys before. They're one of the most intelligent, fun and loveable creatures you'll meet. I'm already missing the walks with Zack, Mimoso and Constantine and to hug and kiss them and all of the other donkeys.… read more
