We are a family run conservation NGO conserving Ecuador's biodiversity through community sustainable development, education, research, and ecotourism for more than three decades. One of our most important activities is running our ecotourism operation. Through our ecotourism operation, we educate visitors at the same time that it was one of our main sources of income for many of our non-profit activities such as patrolling our protected area, doing research, education, and creating local employment.
Living at our cloud forest is living in a natural paradise blessed with some of the earth's highest biodiversity on earth, including yearly visits of the endangered and elusive Andean Spectacled Bear. Where the lodge is located we enjoy mild warm weather year-round and don't have an incidence of tropical diseases.
As COVID-19 has stopped ecotourism visits completely, we need your help with basic maintenance and cleaning up, preparing virtual wildlife presentations, help us take care of the place if we have to travel to the city, help with meal preparation, helping coordinate worker's calendars, help us raise funds, help us with our organic garden and kitchen needs, and help finish our yoga platform.

You will learn first hand what it takes to run an eco-lodge in the most biodiverse place on earth. Your teammates will be locals who are amazing bird guides, bamboo workers and cooks. Local guides know so much about local uses of plants as well as how to spot and name birds and other animals. Locals are into playing soccer (football) and ecuavolley (Ecuadorian's version of volleyball). Our guests come from all over the world and consist mostly of an environmentally friendly type of people.
We are looking for hardworking people and in particular couples. We would appreciate people with experience and interest in different aspects of building, woodwork, interior design, decoration and agriculture, and teaching English to your fellow workers. We need help to re-organize our place for a post-COVID 19 era. We are thinking to prepare virtual presentations and educational tours, refurbishing our infrastructure, planting lots of food, writing a new operational manual, maintenance and decorations, maintaining trails, raising funds, working in an organic garden, finish the woodwork of a yoga platform, and to create materials for natural history tours.
Volunteer travelers would join the owner's family and local staff to try to keep this paradisiac boat afloat.

Workawayers will be provided a private bedroom with shared bathrooms in the scientific station; which is a quaint wooden house with great views of the forest. Workawayers would have to help cook meals at our lodge's kitchen. We are in a wildlife reserve in the tropics, so workawayers should not be afraid of spiders, bugs, or animals in general.
Ecuador is an amazing country to know and visit. Public transportation and roads are better than most neighboring countries such as Colombia or Peru, or similar countries such as Costa Rica. Somebody said that Ecuador is a small country that summarizes the world. There are dozens of indigenous nationalities that have kept their cultures, dozens of different ecosystems from snow-capped mountains to lush virgin forests to white-sand beaches to desert areas. Of course, once in Ecuador, workawayers can also visit the Galapagos Islands. If you decide to stay at our cloud forest reserve during your time off, you can hike our trails, lay in a hammock, read a book, and just rest and relax.
While we have limited mobility due to COVID, our place offers an incredible opportunity to hike trails and visit our waterfall only 200 meters from the lodge.
