So, this is us
We are a community of 5 adults and 2 children situated in a very small village in the wonderful woodland of the Thüringer Wald - a nature reserve close to Eisenach. Whilst slowly rebuilding the old farmstead we indulge in some side projects like running a vegetable garden to feed us and our guests, caring for our small farm animals and beautifying the premises. All of us are handicraft people that run our businesses from the site. There’s a stonemason, taxidermist, weaver, and plant dyer. We also run an ecological valuation office and educational services for museums. We love having new people around to help us with daily chores and little projects, but we don´t ask you to help us earn money with our businesses.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

We were all travellers at certain times of our lives and love to host people from all over the place to share our life with us for a period of time.
We would be very glad if you invite us to see some pictures of your hometown, family&friends and daily life back home. How is life at the place you come from?Proyectos con niños

Projects in 2025:
Gardening:
They say that gardening is the number one hobby shared among centenarians. Extend your life today!
This year, gardening will be a group endeavour, and all of us will be involved throughout the season. At the moment we cultivate a total of 1000m2, supplying our community and some neighbors with organically grown vegetables, salads and herbs. We practice regenerative agriculture and have built the plot up from gravel and sand into the fertile land that feeds us now.
We aim to eat 99 % organic food and apart from growing our own veggies we feed chickens, poultry and rabbits.
Cooking/Household:
The aforementioned Garden produces some of the finest veggies in the land, and we love to eat them! Eating dinner together is part of the ritual of our day, and a good meal sets the tone. If you have an interest in food, hosting, and cooking for a large group of people we welcome you with open mouths. The flipside of cooking is cleaning... the dishes. We don’t expect anyone to do both, but domestic work is real work, and we’d genuinely love to have someone who is interested in (and will be appreciated for) incorporating the less glamorous side of things into their stay.
Small maintenance projects:
There is always some improvement, repair and "make-it-better-bigger-higher" stuff going on. Something for everyone, even if you believe that you have no skills at all!
In Return:
There is a broad breadth of knowledge among this community. From medieval history, to esoteric bird taxonomy, and everything in between, there is rarely ever a dull day. Join us in our workshops and get started on things like woodturning, stonemasonry, historic textile handicrafts, plant dyeing, pottery, baking bread, food preservation, analogue photography… The list really does go on. If you have an idea, hobby, or something you really want to do, let us know and we’ll try to make it happen.

This could be a typical workaway-day for you:
Morning:
- Breakfast around 7.30ish
- Work with us in the garden, or with chores.
- Lunch together at 12.30
Afternoon:
- Enjoy the nature around us hiking, biking, sightseeing, reading, whatever suits you.
- Help with a project for another few hours and get a whole day off for adventures the next day.
- Be responsible during your stay for some afternoon tasks like animal/garden/household care
Evening:
- Dinner!
We all cook and do household chores and we expect you to join in easily.
If it is a hazard to our lives to have you as a cook, we will find something else for you!
We aim to eat 99 % organic food and apart from growing our own veggies we feed chickens, poultry and rabbits. We support a local goat cheese farm and a community supported gardening venture nearby by eating their stuff.
We aim to eat only meat from animals we, or our friends, have fed, and we prefer to slaughter ourselves.
So we are happy to host eat-everythingers and vegetarians, but have learnt that a vegan lifestyle does not easily fit in our lifestyle. Please keep that in mind before applying!Idiomas

There is a lot to see and do for nature lovers as well as for cultural heritage freaks.
Eisenach (6 km away) is a town of 40,000 with famous Art Noveau buildings, cinema, pubs, shopping, museums etc.
It is also THE Reformation town: On the Wartburg castle Martin Luther translated the bible in 1521
We are happy to provide you with information and help you with transportation.
There is limited bus transport, but we do have bicycles. There are shared rides with us and the village people. And, of course, it is a famous hiking area.
We love to see people that are happy to be away from the big city lights and enjoy time with the outdoors.
Hang around campfire at night, go for birdwatching.Un poco más de información
