Our hostel in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands is a fun, sociable place that attracts backpackers from all over the world. We pride ourselves on our welcoming and knowledgeable staff, our extremely clean environment and our daily events, giving our guests the best possible Cameron Highlands experience - and we need your help!

Here you will learn how a hostel is run, maybe learn some new skills, and find out a lot about the local culture. We are always learning new things from each other every day as well, especially how to play Mahjong!

We are looking for volunteers to help maintain and run the hostel, with tasks depending on what time of day you are assign to. We also have 3-4 staff here working together in some time.
Morning shift * Detailed Housekeeping *
- changing beds / cleaning toilets / vacuuming & mopping / cleaning the common areas / laundry
Afternoon shift * Reception / Social Host *
- helping run the reception (checking guests in, briefings, tour and activity information)
- hosting events (trivia, games night, bingo night, movie night, etc)
- maintaining cleanliness of the hostel (vacuuming and mopping for the second time of the day, keeping the common areas clean, laundry, etc)
- ad hoc tasks
We are looking for outgoing, enthusiastic, passionate and reliable people who will enjoy interacting with our guests and helping ensure everyone has a great experience here.
This is a non-paid exchange, but if you are only looking for a free place to sleep or free food, please do not contact us as we are looking for people who want to immerse themselves into the experience and become a part of our family. Please be responsible as you sign up for a volunteering + culture exchange program.
Over the time of your stay here, you will have lots of opportunity to mix and bond with people in the local community, explore the area through hikes and tours, and socialize with the guests and fellow volunteers!
We ask that you stay with us for two weeks minimum, although many of our volunteers stay longer, you're more than welcome!

Alojamiento
You will be assign to a dormitory with shared toilet and shower room among our guest. The reason you sign up as a volunteer we wish you could mingle around with our guest from around the world. We also provide you with as much tea and filter water as you need, as well as the occasional big, family hotpot with a share cost ! We can provide you with scooter rental (staff price) and limited free spaces on the local tours subject to availability from our local tour guide provider!

Cameron Highlands is a beautiful place. Full with nature and mountains. In your free time you can go hiking, visiting the tea plantation, vegetable farms, strawberry farms, night markets, etc.
There are plenty of good restaurants. If you like food (especially indian) you're in the right place.

We have three common areas on separate floors of the hostel that can provide a quiet working space from time to time.

Thank you all for this volunteer, the place is very nice ! The hostel is social and you have plenty time to visit. However the welcome could be warmer to be integrated.
