Descripción
We are a household of 3, two women (we are sisters), and one 8 year old boy, plus three very curious chickens and an extremely affectionate cat. We live on a rural property ten minutes walk from Bethells beach and in the other direction is a 25min walk to Lake Wainamu to name just a few gems in our area. Our home includes a home made Pizza oven, hammocks, a sunny sleepout guest room and a large lawn surrounded by trees. We try to be as environmentally conscious as possible, recycling & reducing our rubbish is important to us, we have a worm farm, our water supply is rain water from the roof, we have a wood stove that heats the water in winter, the house has a professional indoor composting toilet.
You will need your own car (unless you are here for a short stay and we may be able to arrange pick up & drop off) as there is no public transport at the beach. Food is provided but we sometimes leave the preparation up to you, we also have communal meals too.
No smokers please :)

We are lucky enough to live in a very special place where our family has lived for many generations, so we have a large extended family dotted around this area. There are many beautiful walks, native birds, bush, sea, lake, waterfalls so there is lots to explore during your time off.
We are not far from Auckland but far enough to feel like you are away from the city and suburban bustle.
We have both travelled quite a lot and love meeting new people from all areas of the world, we look forward to sharing the paradise we live in, the knowledge we have of the area, NZ flora & fauna and to also learn things about you & your country.

We have many little projects on the go, these are a couple main projects we are working on at the moment; some tasks alongside us, weeding gardens and planting trees.
Then in addition we have housework (ie washing windows) and general tidying.
There may also be some childcare work if both yourself and my son feel like it's a good idea, minding him (8years old) for short periods while we are here (but busy with house & property work!).
We have a wonderful extended family that live nearby who may have some gardening chores as well.

Bethells Beach is a beautiful area home to a stunning black sand beach and a lake complete with rolling sand dunes. So many beautiful walks including the famous Hillary trail. Bethells is a surf beach for the experienced and often has large waves but the lake is a safe alternative for those not confident in the surf. On the weekends the Bethells Beach cafe is open during summer months there is free live music on friday nights. All walking distance.
You'll need a car to reach Bethells Beach from Central Auckland as there is no public transport out to Bethells, but at times we can arrange to pick you up from Swanson which has the nearest train station.
