In 2025 I am looking for people that want to share some of the summer together and want to help me to build a mushroom shaped cabin from natural materials, to plant and maintain the permaculture garden and forest garden, to help with around the house and to join me rock climbing.

I am Nathan, I'm originally from Scotland and have been living in Sweden for the past 7 years. I've been a host on Workaway for all of that time while doing a major renovation to the house that I'm now living in. Through those years I've gained some experience in many different topics, everything regarding houses, countryside living and gardening. Now the house is (almost) done and its time to focus more attention outwards to other things that I like to do like making meaningful connections with people, rock climbing building and gardening. The goal in the long term is to become self-sufficient and at the moment I combine this with dumpsterdiving. Life at the house is totally off-grid on solar electricity and lacks some of the comforts of modern living.
Those here in June will get to join for the ring marking and monitoring of peregrine falcons.

You will get to experience an alternative way of live which is close to the earth, simple and satisfying. You will learn many crafts and skills about how an off-grid lifestyle works on a practical level. Permaculture knowledge and gardening skills. You will get to think out of the box to solve problems. I hope that I can inspire you on your own journey! The beautiful Swedish nature is right on the doorstep, with an abundance of berries and mushrooms. Endless forests to explore by foot and by bike and a lake close by with quiet beaches to relax, swim, and fish. There is a bus stop very close with access to towns. There are lots of instruments to play: guitar, mandolin, violin, bass, flutes, didgeridoo, jews harp, harmonica and drums. I would love to go rock climbing together! Experienced climbers can get a chance to climb new routes.
Ayuda
The main project for the year is to build a cabin in the shape of a mushroom out of all natural materials. No previous experience necessary.
I will need help with starting seedlings, planting them out and helping them grow in permaculture style as well as propagating perennial species.
And more, including outdoor painting, carpentry tasks, getting firewood, household tasks and going dumpster diving.
The goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere with a team feeling.
I need help to clean and climb new routes on newly discovered crags. I would love to share it with other climbers. If you are a climber, please write what/how much experience you have outdoors.
No previous experience necessary.

There are two guest bedrooms available. Internet is available but limited. Bathing with the sauna, outdoor shower and the nearby lake. Please bring fully biodegradable hygiene products. I can provide toothpowder and soap. And as mentioned above, we eat food rescued from the dumpsters.

Hannes and I reunited after volunteering together 2 years ago. It was great to see that hes still going strong on his travels. He is helpful and hardworking, intelligent and questioning and we have great conversations!

Sara and I had great fun during her stay with me. She is a positive and forward thinking, whose energy rubs off on those around. She is dedicated to a project and has many smart ideas.
