Experience a Tao Healing retreat environment within a family home on waterfront. Enjoy huge uplifting views of the north Kona coast with an abundance of sunny days and dolphins swimming by to say good morning.
It can be very rugged here particularly during winter, spring, and hurricane season. We are partially off-grid with occasional dramatic weather: huge winds, sideways rains, or dry heat in the middle of the day during all the summer months. If you visit, you will experience dust, thorny trees, and visits from critters of all descriptions. Only people who are used to camping and living close to the earth really enjoy being here.

As a family, we view work as an opportunity to be focused and aware. In Hawaii, the best way to learn is with quiet observation, rather than lots of verbal instruction and explanation. Since we live on an island we must always be sensitive to our impact on the environment and aware of how our actions affect others.
We try to keep a balance of life by swimming. snorkeling, paddling, and dancing. We visit an abundance of nearby farmers markets and seek out cultural and educational events.

Because of lingering caution over Covid we prefer welcoming guests who are currently on the Hawaii Islands.

Joshua is born and raised here on Big Island and has deep roots. If you are sincere about a cultural exchange you can learn a lot from him about the values of Aloha. Josh loves to play music in the evening or do random things like share a meal, play chess, or talk about science and mitochondria.
Anneka has a diverse counseling background including spiritual healing. Its very personalized, and within that individuality some guests have really opened up and shared life transformations. Do you have experience living in a community and co-operatively? Do you often thrive during times of self-reflection and solitude?
Josh and Anneka are both Tao Healing Hands Practitioners and lifelong learners constantly exploring new interests. We sometimes host Tao Healing groups and private sessions. Overall we are content with the simple things of life and hope you would be also.

    Ayuda

These days we could do with helpers who have used hand tools and are used to somewhat gritty physical labor. In general, tasks are pretty simple and include housekeeping like sweeping and doing the dishes, landscaping like raking or watering the plants, or animal care by helping to take the dogs on a hike by the ocean.

Helpers with special skillsets are always an added bonus so please let us know your interests. For example, we had one helper who wanted to refresh on some carpentry skills from her set design days and she did an awesome job framing up an outdoor cabana. We have had different helpers volunteer to share yoga classes, design a rock garden, or reboot our chicken coop, which all was super helpful plus they enjoyed practicing their unique talents.

We have a queen sized bed in a rustic cabana and a twin bed indoors. We almost ways have an overabundance of food in the fridge and on the shelves with family members randomly dropping off avocados, oranges or bananas. There are always staples such as rice and quinoa available. Joshua loves having healthy meals set aside when he comes home from work.
Please be prepared to nourish yourself and fill in with any special food requests, snack foods, or personal dietary needs. Always be prepared to purchase your own preferred foods from the farmer's markets, yum! during an outing or road trip adventure across the island.

There is a busy rural road nearby and a mini-mall about four blocks from here with shops and restaurants. Only two buses daily so independent and resourceful travelers benefit the most. We will need to do an interview to make sure we are compatible. Your best reference is an open heart. Mahalo !
