Descripción
We started the building of the eco project early 2022. We have a 3500m2 land 300 meters from an amazing surf spot in El Transito, Nicaragua.
We have created 3 wood buildings which have ocean views.
From August 2023, the hostel became fully functional with a lovely local family managing it.
The buildings have no walls to offer a different experience and to connect with nature. It’s an eco project focused on natural building and permaculture.
2 Dry toilets, 2 showers without roof, 1 shared kitchen.
About me... I'm a French 41, originally from Paris. I have been planning this project since 2016 and made my dream happen. I see this project as a school, first for myself, then for all people. Join me in this crazy adventure !

What a casual working day with us :
6:30 – Wakeup & Breakfast
7:00 – WORK
9:30 - Refreshment break (drink & fruits)

We have an ambitious eco-project with a lot of social media content. We share all steps from day one and keep pushing even after the hostel would be built.

Learn : Sustainability, natural building, permaculture, languages (We speak ENGLISH, SPANISH, FRENCH) …
Ayuda
We are looking for 2 different roles:
HANDS-ON VOLUNTEER - 4 weeks minimum
No specific skills required, self motivation and team spirit :
- The main task is anything with the current needs onsite
- Manage the garden/plants/water
- Maintenance (sanding/cleaning/vernishing/painting)
- Improve/build/repair (doors/stairs/fences...)
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER - 4 weeks minimum
One the following is enough to help us !
- Manage social network platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
- Creating content : photo / video (good camera would be great!)
and more so feel free to propose your skills :-)
Welcoming artists (musicians, dancer, etc)!

Maximum 4 hours a day, 5 days a week.
What a casual working day with us :
6:30 – Wakeup & Breakfast
7:00 – WORK
9:00-30 – Fruits refreshment break
9:30 – WORK
11:15 – Stop working and clean/set in order the tools
11:30 – End of the working day and cooking together
12:00 – Lunch time
FREE afternoon / evening + weekend

Alojamiento
BE AWARE : We are on building stage, with basic confort ; dry toilets, simple shower, open-air kitchen with a double gas cooker, foam mattresses in the 2nd palapa + bed lines & mosquito nets
We provide :
- Unlimited filtered water
- Basic food (rice, pasta, beans, coffee, bread, oil, sugar, salt, some spices..)
- Surfboard rental possibilities
Volunteers should cook and do dishwashing together. Vegetables, fruits, meat/fish are on your charge.
It is organised by the volunteers for the volunteers. :-)

El Tránsito is a fishermen village of 2500+ people, You can come via Public transport!
There is restaurants, bars, small grocery's shopping and multiple other small services (hair-dresser, small health center, schools, car/moto repair shop...)
Nightlife isn't bad neither ! locals & expats bars and hotels/hostels beach front are providing multiple choices to chill or party!
You can surf more than 300 days a year in warm water, enjoy natural swimming pools with colorful fish, play Baseball, Football, Basketball, volleyball...
You won't get bored here so JOIN US!

She helped a lot in re-making the Social Media marketing strategy. She also participated on the hands on building projects on the land. it was very nice and fun to have her here !
We kept contact after and kept giving advises :D
Very adaptive, easy going and motivated!
