Hello guys, we are Ala and Lyndon!
Ideally located in Moalboal 5 minutes from Panagsama beach where you can see turtles and where the "Sardine Run" is located!
We have 3 children and we also take care of about 130 dogs and a few cats in full-time. They have all been saved from the street and we do our best to treat them and give them the love they deserve . At the beggining, we had only one shelter but that was not enough, so we opened a second one at our home. The big one welcomes about dogs 57 and the little one at our home about 52 dogs with a few cats. Our goal is to take good care of them until they find there fur ever home.
Volunteers have 2 day off a week so you can roam around in moalboal.
We prefer couple volunteers and have a good heart of the animals and understand what dog sanctuary is ..
* number 1 rule of thumb keep the shelter clean.
* must know how to do basic cleaning
*must understand English to avoid mis understanding
* willing to get there hands dirty

You will learn more about our history, those of the dogs we welcome, about our life here as a local family and how we were able to rebuild after the typhoon of 2021 which destroyed everything.
We will also be really happy to learn more about you, we are a friendly family who loves meet new people!

Not receiving any assistance from the municipality, we are really grateful for the many tourists who visit us every weeks. Thanks to their donations, we can give the necessary care to the dogs. But now, we really wanna go further and welcome volunteers to help us on a daily basis.

We can offer to you a modest accommodation, for one or 2 people: there is currently a single room with a double bed, a fridge, kettle, fan, drinking water and private toilet. For the shower, we prefer to warn you anyway that for the moment you will benefit from a local experience with a warm shower..
We received our first volunteers in January 2023, and they were delighted with what we had to offer them, but our goal is to finish the bathroom to provide the best possible experience for our volunteers. (Besides, any help for this will also be welcome if you are happy with it!)

Daily task at the sanctuary! We start 7
am in the morning feeding them cleaning washing dog bowls and all cleaning stuff so mostly will be finish around 10:30am after that if there's no handy work you can also pet the dog cuddle them there's also walk in visitors coming inhouse volunteers can also show them around the sanctuary and at 12noon break time volunteers can go out for snorkeling or go to beaches restaurant.
Volunteers can have 2day off a week you can explore Moalboal do some activities
Any ideas or tips that can help the sanctuary to keep going will be much appreciated

Here we were able to experience how a dog shelter is run out of selfless, warm love for dogs and cats. Ala and Lyndon made us feel welcome and really appreciated our help. This was our first workaway experience and we loved every bit of it. This shelter is well maintained by Lyndon and Ala showing how much they truly care about the animals in their care. It was our first Workaway experience ever but we can only recommend it to everybody!
Ala, Lyndon and the kids are really kind and they are giving everything they own to the shelter and the animals. The dogs and cats are sooo lovely and well-treated.

I had an amazing time at their shelter. The people are really friendly. The amount of work is more than okay for what you receive from them. The accommodation was very clean and had everything you need. It's a great project made with a lot of love. I can only recommend everybody to be part of it.
