Our Surf Camp is located in the jungles of Tamarindo, Costa Rica, and a short ride to Playa Tamarindo beach -- We provide a unique opportunity to experience the authentic Costa Rican way of life -- Through daily surfing, camping, yoga, remote beach and waterfall excursions, among countless other activities, our surf camp serves as a foundation to connect with yourself, other adventurous travelers, and Costa Rica's vast and extraordinary offerings of nature and wildlife.
The idea is to create a fun, energetic atmosphere full of adventures and unforgettable memories, while simultaneously being in harmony with the environment and culture of Costa Rica. To create this atmosphere, we are looking for open-minded volunteers who will be a constant positive and valuable contribution to our operational team.
We were recognized by Workaway, among their 25,000+ hosts, as "Host of the Month" in June 2016! We employ a large number of local employees, ranging from team memebers, to our chefs, drivers, maintenance, tour guides, custodial and laundry services, and things such as having local fruit and vegetable vendors set up in camp.
Both what a traveler can benefit from and learn at our Workaway from a cultural exchange standpoint can come in the form of meshing human connection and merging cultures. We often times have over 20+ countries represented in camp, and we encourage all to share their culture, passions, and talents with one another via workshops/classes.
From a local cultural exchange standpoint, our relationships with nearby farms, schools, families, and organizations are beneficial to the surrounding community. Throughout the year, we offer opportunities to do local farm trips/exchanges, language classes and efforts with local children, beach cleanups, teaching classes at nearby trade schools, among other goodwill endeavors. As we continue to develop, these opportunities to give back to the local community become more fruitful. -

We offer one focused tier of volunteer opportunity:
Qualified Volunteer: In exchange for accommodations and food, two meals a day (breakfast & dinner), you will provide a specific professionally-skilled trade. While we are open-minded to accepting other skilled trades, we are looking for volunteers with the following skills set :
Your inquiry into this volunteer option will be carefully reviewed, and if accepted, you will potentially be asked to have a video chat so we can discuss the expected contributions further.
While we do all we can to determine a Volunteer's qualifications prior to arrival, once accepted as a Qualified Volunteer, you will be required to undergo a one week trial period your first week in camp, in which you simply exhibit your skill set, enthusiasm, and initiative, to confirm your suggested capabilities.
Qualified Volunteers can expect to be a large part of our day-to-day operations, and ultimately the entire camp's development.

Amazing time spent here. Was there for 6 weeks as a qualified volunteer. Two meals a day provided were always delicious. Beach is great for surfing beginners. Living in the jungle is a different style of life but the people in the camp always made it worth it.

I stayed in the camp for three weeks. I met some of the most amazing people there. I loved the jungle experience, waking up in the middle of nature every morning. Food was more than excellent. The yoga teacher is also an experience in itself. The atmosphere was one of family. Great place for surfers and party seekers.

I had the chance to stay at the surf camp for two weeks and it was awesome ! :) the work is fair and you get to pick whichever task suits you best. The whole team is incredible, the food is delicious and everyone is always keen to go surfing :) I'll come back to visit for sure !! :)

We volunteered here for a month and loved it! The camp has a great vibe and everyone gets along really well. The work was easy and working with the other volunteers makes it fun. Great moments in this surf camp!! People young and fun! Surrounded by nature is perfect to combine surf with fun and relax in equal measure! Work there is easy, and you will take delicious food in the camp!

Awesome place to stay. The camp is very comfortable, and the people are very friendly and openminded. I really enjoyed my stay here and recommended this place to everyone I met on my ongoing travel.

The surf camp is nicely tucked away in the forest where monkeys and other wildlife will greet you every day. It's a 10 minute ride from Tamarindo where all the nightlife and touristy things are, so it is close to all the action, yet far enough to have a break from it.

This is a great place to volunteer. The camp is definitely one of a kind and the staff is supernice. We (Sofia and I) spent almost a month helping out with the daily in and outs. If it wasn't for the 30 minutes walk to the beach we would have stayed longer.
