We run a unique Botanical Park and at the same time Holistic Center in Ecuador. It is a social and environmental restoration project founded in 2006. The environmental restoration takes place on an area of 25 hectares in the Amazon province of Pastaza and is based on the permaculture principles.
The project aims to become a model for environmental recovery and conservation of areas in Ecuadorian Amazon, where the forest has been largely destroyed.
The park seeks to create and strengthen alternative practices in social, economic and environmental field that are focused on the conservation of habitats and the health of people and communities.
This initiative seeks to combine research, training and the development of permaculture practices and solidarity to preserve successfully the endangered species, reduce global warming, reforest the key areas, and improve the living conditions of local residents and habitats that are in critical situations.
The Park offers very good conditions to live, hight good quality of food and accommodation.
The main sub-projects are based on 4 branches from the permaculture:
- Agroforestry
- Healing
- Regenerative tourism
- Social workTipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Living an experience here will give you the chance to do something positive to help the planet by being in direct contact with nature. Working in the Botanical Park will give you the opportunity to be in a relaxed environment, to learn or improve your Spanish, to observe and learn from the land itself, to heal yourself, share with others, to learn about local and foreign culture, and to learn various aspects of ecological restoration through practical work. You can enjoy hikes into the forest, swim in the private piece of river, and use the river´s clay for masks or massages. You can learn how to lead a group with divers people from different places of the world, learn how to prepare extracts and essential oils with medicinal plants and do subproducts like soaps, creams and more.
We can provide you with training in field methods to develop your skills for a degree or a career as a conservation biologist or just for fun. It is a way to discover new skills and get invaluable personal and professional development.
Since we belong to a big permaculture network in the Amazon and in other places from Ecuador you can visit and collaborate with them while you learn more things and share with other populations.
For sure you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have done something really necessary for the environment, to fulfil your social and environmental responsibility, to regenerate, protect and preserve the rain forest and its cultures for the future generations.Ayuda

Most working days run from around 8 am to 4 pm. The work schedule consists of 4 hours in the morning and 1 or 2 hours in the afternoons depending on the weather and the activities. During the free time people can play guitar, run, dance, read, practice Yoga, use Internet, share time with local people, and enjoy the attractions from the Park.
Travel to the park:
Puyo is located at 270km from Quito, people can arrive by car or by bus. The bus should be taken in Quito at the South Station (Estación Quitumbe) the price of the ticket is $7,50 USD. The travel takes around 5 hours. From Puyo station people can take a taxi for $4 -5 USD and ask the chauffeur to drive to the Parque Botánico Los Yapas in Fatima. Once in Fatima, the taxi should take the first road (where the Police station is placed) and in the next corner take again to the left.
Climate:
Local climate is wet and warm during the day but cool during the nights and the weather is often overcast. Don’t forget a sweater. The seasonal changes in the climate are relatively small, and daytime temperature typically range between 18-28°C, with sun and generally short, but heavy periods of rain daily.
Environment:
Since it is a very humid region, with high precipitation levels, muddy soil, ants, mosquitoes and other insects, the environment can be difficult to work in. As with any tropical forest there are species of poisonous snakes, scorpions and spiders to be found, and care must be taken. If the guidelines are followed and common-sense is used there should be no problems. In order to have harmony, peace and a good ambiance in general; respect, solidarity, equality, generosity are the basic principles of the Park.Un poco más de información
