Hello, I am an archaeologist , my boyfriend Koray is a dog trainer. We live in a village in Izmir with our cats, dogs, and a donkey. We are interested in cactus cultivation. We live in a wonderful village in Izmir. We are in the forest, walking distance to the waterfall, 5 km away from the beach. We are a little far from the city center but very easy to reach.
There is a lot of work to be done in the garden and in our home. Sometimes we are so busy with other things that we don't have enough time for gardening and housework. Or even if we have the time, we find ourselves struggling to make even simple decisions because of the many responsibilities of settled life. That's why we decided to use Workaway.

I live in Izmir/Menderes. We reach my house by passing through the forest on the hill of the village where I live. On the same street there is a vineyard that makes great wines. You can go deep into the forest on foot from my house and take a walk in the forest. There is a small waterfall that flows only in the rainy season. You can leave the house and walk 15 minutes to the street where the bus (#775) passes and you can go to the seaside in 8 minutes with this bus. From there you take a minibus to the ancient city of Ephesus. Again, you can reach the transfer centre by bus (#775) passing through my village and from there (Cumaovası Transfer Center) you can go to the city centre by train (İZBAN).

The help we need may vary depending on the season and its priority. Every morning, we do a general house cleaning. Sweeping and mopping the floors, tidying up the tables, and general organizing take about half an hour. If there are any dog droppings outside, they need to be collected and disposed of, and the area in front of the door should be swept.
We generally have accumulated tasks in the garden. We have many fruit trees in the backyard, and their branches need pruning, and the weeds around them need to be cleared. We didn't plant anything in the garden this year, and it has become overgrown with weeds. Preparing the garden for planting for the next season is important. Sometimes we go to the forest to collect wood. If there are any fruits grown in the garden according to the season, they need to be harvested and actions should be taken on how to utilize them.
Sometimes we need to go to the market for shopping. During the time for making preserves, pickles, and vinegar, I enjoy dealing with these (Bilge). Koray takes care of our cactus business as soon as he wakes up in the morning. Koray doesn't speak English but he is very easy to get along with. Maybe you can help him learn English too. Additionally, there are some construction projects we plan to undertake, such as general garden and house organization.

Alojamiento
We have a guest room where you will sleep. There are suitable parking spaces in the garden for those who come with their caravans and tents. We will have breakfast and dinner together. There will definitely be something to eat in the kitchen at intermediate meals. We eat vegan at home.
There is always food in our kitchen. We have a late breakfast and have a main meal twice a day. But there is always food in the fridge for those who want to have breakfast early in the morning. There is food for snacks.

We have 300 gb of home internet per month. This internet is enough for us and our guests, not for intensive work but for simple work.

They are amazing hosts, who gave us a very warm welcome.
During our whole stay we were a big family. We had breakfast and dinner all together. They are very good cooks! The cooperation with both of them worked very well and they always tried to take into account our personal needs and wishes.
