For those who crave nature, freedom, and work that means something.

I’m Nick, and this is my wee patch o’ land tucked into the quiet green hills above Zamora. It’s off-grid, simple, and real — a place for those who feel the pull to step away from noise, screens, and the restless churn of the modern world.

    Out here, things slow down.

    You’ll find space. Trees. Silence.
The kind o’ quiet that lets a man (or woman) hear their own thoughts again.

    This place suits those who:

    • Feel at home in nature
    • Think for themselves
    • Choose calm over chaos
    • Don’t shy away from honest, physical work
    • Want time to reset, reflect, or create

    This is slow, natural living.

A place to clear your head…
    to reconnect with something real…
and maybe remember a way of living that the modern world’s done its best to make folk forget.

The real experience here is the deep connection with nature—waking up to birdsong, walking forest trails, and living simply among fruit trees and mountain air. It’s quiet, peaceful, and incredibly grounding.

The most needed help is hauling gravel or materials up from the road, usually in backpacks. It’s physical work, but deeply appreciated, and essential to building and maintaining this off-grid sanctuary. If you enjoy a good challenge in a beautiful place, it fits perfectly.

Along the way, you’ll learn about fruit tree care, trail work, and how to live more in tune with the land. I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned—and learn from you, too.

There’s time and space for conversations, language exchange (Spanish/English), hammock naps, campfires, and just being. I welcome people who are independent, grounded, and open to a different pace of life. Everyone brings something unique, and the exchange is always mutual.

  • Ayuda

    Ayuda

You'll be helping with hands-on outdoor tasks that support a peaceful, off-grid lifestyle. The weather is steady year-round, so projects flow consistently, with small shifts depending on what's most useful at the time.

    Typical tasks include:

    • Gardening – planting, composting, watering, prepping beds
    • Trail maintenance – clearing paths, reinforcing steps, improving access
    • Small building projects – natural construction, fencing, basic repairs
    • General upkeep – tidying, organizing, improving outdoor spaces

I often work alongside volunteers and am happy to share skills and learn from yours too. There’s plenty of room for creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving if that’s your thing.

We usually work about 2 hours per weekday, with a relaxed and flexible rhythm. Some days are more focused, others more free-form.

This setup is best for independent, grounded people who enjoy fresh air, natural living, and the satisfaction of working with their hands.

    The Work

Around 4 hours a day, weekdays — shaped by the weather and the rhythm o’ the land:

    • Planting, pruning, and tending the gardens
    • Trail maintenance
    • Small repairs and simple building projects
    • General care of the land

No pointless tasks. No wasted effort.
Everything you do has a purpose you can see with your own eyes.

Este anfitrión ofrece intercambio de idiomas
Spanish and English are both spoken here, so there’s a natural chance to practice either language in daily conversation. It’s a relaxed, real-life way to improve your skills—and I’m happy to help you learn or exchange along the way.

  • Alojamiento

    Alojamiento

Volunteers stay in a private, off-grid cabin nestled in nature. It’s clean, secure, and surrounded by fruit trees and forest. The cabin includes a gas stove for cooking, basic outdoor outhouse, and access to fresh spring water.

While the setup is simple, it’s peaceful and private—ideal for those who enjoy a natural, unplugged lifestyle.

You’ll provide your own food and do your own cooking in the cabin, though I’m flexible and happy to help if you’re on a tight budget.

There’s also a shaded hammock area nearby, great for resting, reading, or enjoying the mountain views.

    Where You’ll Stay

You’ll have your own private off-grid cabin — rustic, peaceful, and set apart from the rest. A place that’s truly yours while you’re here.

    It includes:

    • Clean spring water
    • A gas stove for your own cooking
    • A simple composting outhouse
    • Forest all around, alive with birdsong
    • Wi-Fi at the main house, a short walk away

It’s no’ luxury — and that’s the point.
It’s grounded, calm, and honest. A good fit for those who value simplicity and self-reliance.

    What You Provide

You bring your own food and cook for yourself.

Life here’s flexible — you’ll have space to settle into your own rhythm without being micromanaged.

  • Algo más...

    Algo más...

On your time off, you can explore forest trails, relax in the hammock zone, or walk into the nearby town (about 45–60 minutes down the mountain).

Public transport is available from town, and I can usually help coordinate your arrival or give clear directions.

I live simply and close to nature. There’s no electricity in the cabin, and Wi-Fi is only available near the main house, so it’s a great chance to unplug.

I ask for mutual respect, clear communication, and self-responsibility. Quiet mornings, clean shared spaces, and a good attitude go a long way.

You’ll also meet Toki, my dog—he gets excited when new people arrive but quickly settles down. He’s gentle, curious, and often your first trail guide.

If you’re independent, physically capable, and excited about simple living in a beautiful natural setting, this place will feel like home.

While the volunteer cabin is off-grid and doesn’t have electricity, there’s reliable Wi-Fi near the main house just a short walk away. You’ll have quiet mornings to work before or after helping out, and plenty of peaceful time to focus. If you're self-motivated and okay with a simple setup, this is a great place to unplug from distractions while staying connected when needed.

While the road up to the cabin isn’t accessible by campervan, there’s a spacious, flat parking area at the base of the property, just off the main road. It’s a quiet, safe spot that can fit most campervans or motorhomes. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk up a scenic gravel trail to the main area and volunteer cabin. There are no hookups, but there’s a stream nearby for fresh mountain water. The spot is best suited for self-contained vehicles, and you're welcome to join in all activities and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Toki’s our loyal guardian and adventure mate here at Harmony Farm. He’s gentle and affectionate, though a bit excited when new visitors arrive — just his way of saying hello. Once he settles, he’s calm, loyal.
