We are a young, energetic couple, living on the family farm. Enjoy all the great aspects and help is improve our land! We have two boys, Liam born in April 2016 and Emil, born in December 2019. Our farm is a 22,000 acre (11,000 hectare) cattle ranch, situated in the north east of Namibia in close proximity of the Waterberg Plateau National Park. Apart from our cattle, it is also home to an abundance of wildlife. Our homestead has a citrus orchard and a veggie garden to supplement our dietary needs. It is our goal to live environmentally-friendly by applying regenerative farming methods.
1. We could use help with growing our garden and orchard, since we try to be self-sufficient throughout the year. Duties will include cultivating the garden, harvesting, canning and anything else related. We also produce game meat products when available, where you could assist in this process.
2. Help with animal care would include tending to sick animals, vaccinating cattle, feeding chickens and pigeons as well as our 5 little dogs and cat.
3. We do most of our repair work ourselves, and would love someone who has technical skills. Such tasks include fixing machinery, welding structures, driving a tractor to harvest hay, fencing and similar farm duties.
We have a rustic lapa house, with a toilet and shower, an outdoor kitchen below, next to a pool table and dart board and the swimming pool a few meters away. It has a double bed and closet upstairs.
We also have a guest house, needing to keep all the rooms, bathrooms and living room clean and available for guests.
Volunteers will have a room in the guest house. You have electricity, slow internet, and hot water (donkey) for showers. We try our best to live off the land, eat from what we have available. Volunteers will be able to work shoulder to shoulder with our friendly staff, being exposed to some cultural interaction.
We prefer couples as they can easily entertain each other. We might consider single people.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

It is a big farm with lots of possibilities. Apart from the help we need described above, we are also into new ideas and input from volunteers. We appreciate people who take initiative with a project and run with the idea. We only ask that it fits with our sustainable approach to farming.
We also would appreciate help with setting up for dinner, cooking, and enjoying new foods/dishes.Idiomas

We have a guest room with a bath and shower, closet and dresser.
Coffee/tea is available in the main house.
A washing machine is available for clothes with a line to hang dry. We have electricity that is runs on[;\ +solar, so it is limited, and we ask volunteers to be mindful of using lights and electronics.Algo más...
We are 45 minutes from the nearest town, so volunteers should be prepared to entertain themselves in the bush. It is possible to visit the nearby Waterberg Plateau National Park or Cheetah Conservation Fund. Other activities could be hiking,
We ask visitors to our home to be respectful. By this we mean, we are happy to share what we have, but we ask that tools, equipment, books, etc. be used properly and returned to where they came from. We enjoy meeting new people and learning about their lives, but also need time to ourselves and cannot be responsible to entertain volunteers all the time. We ask that our private areas remain for us and that volunteers respect quiet hours. We are fine with drinking alcohol or smoking, but also ask that it be done respectfully.
It is better if volunteers have their own transportation since we are off the beaten track and are not easy to get to with public transportation. In certain cases, we can arrange pick-ups/drop-offs, but we are far from town and 3+ hours from Windhoek.Un poco más de información
