Selwyn and Jennevieve are quiet and gentle souls who came to us to help with Gardening and Pet Sitting whilst we went away for three weeks. Selwyn worked hard in the garden, walked the dogs twice a day and also fixed an IT issue that we had. Sadly they had to leave early and we were unable to say goodbye. Thank you Sue, Richard and Imo for your hospitality and warm welcome.

Michael and Sanam were without doubt some of the best people we have had Workaway with us. They are both instantly likeable people who exude happiness and positivity, they came into our lives for a couple of weeks and have made a lasting impact. Michael has tons of experience in gardening and was a huge asset in helping us shift compost, cut

We miss you and are already looking forward to your return later in the year.
We cannot thank Sue and Richard enough for this brilliant workaway experience!
We had such a great time in Somerset with the both of them and their family. We were welcomed into their home immediately from being collected from the train station. Arriving to the property we immediately felt welcome. They had provided us with such a beautiful

Their property and grounds are extremely beautiful no matter the weather. We certainly enjoyed our time with such great hosts.
We cannot wait to return. It is the most beautiful part of the UK in our opinion. We fell in love with their pets straight away and miss them dearly!
Michael and Sanam
We were so lucky to have Georgina and Tim here to house and pet sit for us. They are absolute Dog Whisperers who had our animals love and attention from the moment they met. They are highly experienced with fostering and looking after rescue dogs, we felt 100% confident in leaving them with ours. They are level headed people with obvious common

Sue & Richard were lovely hosts who welcomed us with warmth and some lovely food! We looked after their dogs, cat and house whilst they were away for the weekend and it was great. The dogs are easy to look after, the cat looks after herself in the main. The house is lovely and in a nice area. There were other Workawayers there when we arrived so

This was our first Workaway experience and they made us feel relaxed and comfortable. We would definitely recommend a stay with Due & Richard, Barney, Django & Poppy
Josh and Florence were great helpers, they are both very strong and no job seemed too big for them. They were both able to tackle some heavy weeding in the garden and Josh earned the title of "Best Ever Log Chopper". They are both very intelligent and able to make decisions on their own as well as asking questions about the jobs when not sure. We

They were very proactive about organising their time off and really made the most of their time here. They will be an asset to any host, particularly if you need strong and willing helpers.
We had a wonderful time at Sue and Richards for three weeks. We mostly did garden tasks and also some indoor tasks helping to tidy the house. We enjoyed taking the very friendly dogs Barney and Django for lovely walks in the country side, and saying hello to the cat Poppy every now and then when she felt like it. Sue and Richard were very

The area in Somerset is a really beautiful place and there are lots of opportunities to see many different cities nearby. It was also nice to borrow some bikes to ride to some nice cider factories. Where we stayed in the annex was also a very nice spacious area with a well equipped kitchen. Thanks guys!

Elles and Udo are exceptional Workawayers. From the moment we met them we felt secure in knowing we could be sure they would be highly competent at the tasks required. They are also very intelligent and well travelled people which meant we had a lot of very interesting and fun, conversations over dinner. We and Barney and Django miss you very much!

We can be very short about this place: an amazing beautiful place and lovely people!!
We really enjoyed living in the annex for over 5 weeks and working in the beautiful garden here.
We had a wonderful time and warm moments with the family. We had several nice dinners and very friendly connecties were formed. When Sue and Richard were traveling,
… read more we also looked after the Bordercoli brothers Barney and Djego. They are very sweet and funny.
The annex is a wonderful place to live with all facilities, a private entrance and terrace in one of the gardens, with a wonderful view.
In close contact with Sue, we tackled the large garden step by step. After the wet summer there was a lot to do. It was very satisfying to see the beautiful end result. And the garden was (almost) ready for winter.
There is a lot of information in the annex about the walking possibilities and nice daytrips. You can see and feel that Sue has decorated the place with a lot of feeling and love. We really enjoyed the contact and cooperation with Sue and the family. They are cordial, to the point, understanding and very helpful. In practice, the work corresponds exactly to the description. We really enjoyed the place and went on beautiful walks and bike rides. We first drove a bit to see a number of highlights.
We highly recommend this Workaway address!

Samantha and Alan are a good humoured and energetic couple who between them have extensive experience in many areas and are not afraid of hard work or getting their hands dirty.
They got stuck into a number of jobs during the 5 weeks that they were here and were able to both work independently and as part of a team as we had other helpers here at

Alan has a belt full of skills from electrics to engineering, was able to help fix our lawnmower, sort out our front gates that had stopped opening and closing properly and a particularly complicated woodworking project, in addition to lots of work around the garden.
Samantha is very creative and took a broken chimenea and planted it up into a mini garden as a surprise for me. She was also great at spotting weeds and ensuring the garden was kept pristine. One of her loves is wallpapering and she transformed our loo!
In all they were a great laugh, got on well with the other couple here and we all shared lots of stories around the table.
They are self sufficient when not working and went to explore the local area, often offering to shop for us if we needed.
I would not hesitate to have them here again and highly recommend them as Workaways.

Susan and Richard are excellent hosts. They are warm, easy going and friendly.
Accommodation and all food was provided during our stay. We were lucky enough to be housed within the fully equipped annex. Lunchtime and evening meals were always held together with our hosts and any other guests who were present during our stay. Food was tasty,
… read more varied and home cooked to an excellent standard. We were given the opportunity to cook for our hosts and guests regularly during our stay.
Somerset is a very pretty place to visit. There are penty of small countryside towns and villages nearby also hiking routes. There is a friendly pub located in the small village where the hosts are located.
Work was varied and carried out accordingly with the British weather.
Outdoor work included the preparation of vegetable beds, topiary, grass and hedge cutting, lifting and replacing paving, removal and repair of driveway security gates and the painting of guttering and soffits.
Indoor work included wallpapering a small area, boxing in of pipework, painting internal walls and window repairs.
None of the work that we undertook during our 5 week stay was demanding or difficult.
We highly recommend staying with these hosts.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

It was a real pleasure to host Gemma and Mundo here, they are so lovely and easy going we really enjoyed having them around. It was a real pleasure to meet Leandro and Agda and have them with us for two months. Agda was such a joy to have around, her positive attitude in everything she did was wonderful. We spent 01 month here with this lovely family and we couldn't recommend the experience more highly.
The house is in a small village, it is spacious and comfortable, with an emphasis on the beautiful garden, very well maintained. Martock is a 30min walk away and Yeovil is easily accessible by bus (but Sue also gave us a few rides there when we

When we arrived, there were 03 more workaways in the house and so, at first, we stayed in a private room in the main house. But, after about 10 days, we went to a fully equipped and comfortable annex.
The work consisted mainly of garden care, but we also did some cleaning, carpentry and general maintenance. Furthermore, we took the dogs Barney and Django for an daily afternoon walk (which, for us, was a pleasure, not work!). All tasks were fair (flexible depending on your skills) and time was respected.
We shared great dinners together, where we were able to try typical English foods and cook some Brazilian foods, always accompanied by lots of conversation, laughter and games.

From the moment I met Claudia at the station I knew I had found a truly wonderful person.

Claudia has a deep love for berries and spent many hours walking around and picking from the hedgerows and then making sauce and delicious things from it. We were lucky to have five Workaways here at the same time and Claudia turned breakfasts into an occasion with some amazing dishes, we were fed wonderfully!
Having grown up on a farm she is very capable with all kinds of outside tasks, be it cutting the grass, pruning bushes, digging or deep cleaning the chicken coop. She also helped with some woodworking projects and helped with re-installing some ancient floorboards and delicately sanding a new dining table that we were making.
We only spent two weeks together, but it felt like we had known her for ever. Evenings around the table were great fun because of her ability to inject happiness and enthusiasm into others. We were all really sad when she left and still talk about how we can entice her back some time. We have found an unexpected bond with this kind and beautiful soul that we know will remain. We are so grateful for everything you did for us Claudia and feel so incredibly lucky that you chose to come here.

**To all the Workawayers wishing to find a loving family and enjoy a great experience : I totally recommend a stay at their place! :)
THE SITE : The house is situated in a small town, close to the farmer's fields where you might have the chance to go walk the two adorable dogs! The village has a pub and the next town too with other stores and
… read more coffees and a historical building to see. The house itself is a beautiful ancestral construction and has lots of gardens. They grow some vegetables, some fruits and raise some hens ! Also, even if we were many workers at the same time, we all had our private room, which was really appreciated! I totally felt at home on the first day!
THE WORK : The work was flexible depending on your skills and what there is to do. Personally, I have helped with gardening and weeding, helped to walk the dogs, clean the storage room, install wood floor, sand a wooden table that Mr. Richard was making, cleaned the hens's house and take care of the compost by chopping the long weeds. The day usually started around 8h30 until lunch and then we would finish the hours in the afternoon. Mrs. Sue and Mr. Richard allowed me to delay my hours in the afternoon for some days that I needed to do some planning for my trip, which I really appreciated!
THE FOOD : The food was always really nice! I had the chance to share breakfast and lunch with them since my room was on their side of the house. (There is an annex where workawayers are more autonomous, with their own kitchen.) We always shared dinners in the evening all together; it was my favorite time of the day! We would play games or discuss about songs and movies or anything that was on our mind! Thank you to Mrs. Sue for always baking delicious food! Also thank you for being careful to my gluten and lactose restriction, it felt really nice. Thank you to Flo and Noe for the delicious empanadas! For my own pleasure, I also cooked some recipes for dinner or breakfast, went berry picking in the fields and cooked apple sauce!
OVERALL: Thank you to the three of you for all the great memories! Thank you for receiving me really last minute and for supporting me during these unexpected travel twists I was going through. Thank you Sue for being so caring and sharing, I really enjoyed our discussions and cooking! Thank you Richard for the funny jokes, the nice conversations and wonderful breakfasts! Thank you Imo for showing me your business, for sharing those silly stories and for inspiring me with your projects! I am proud of you and I know you will have a great success! Thank you to Pop-I, the cat, for always being so easy to find : same spot on the couch! Haha! And thank you to Barney and Django for the morning and afternoon hangouts! You are both really affectionate!
Sue, Richard and Imo, you are always welcome to come say hi in Canada!
All the best and take care,
Claudia

I reached out to Paolo and Micol when we needed help at a specific time, sadly for us Micol was busy with work but Paolo took up the challenge and we were very pleased to have him here. Our favourite skill of his was in cooking us some really excellent Italian dishes we’d never tried before. It was our pleasure to meet you and wish you all the best.

Rafael and Margott are dream Workawayers. It was an absolute pleasure to host them here, we could not have hoped for better people both in terms of the quality of their work and their characters. Margott is a pleasure to have around, always cheerful and helpful. She has considerable patience and is highly organised. Her attention to detail is second to none providing a high standard of finishing jobs, be it sanding furniture or painting. Also my house has never looked so clean!!
They completed some major jobs here, such as building and painting a new decking, our back doors were rotten and Rafael fixed them with ease, making the repairs look invisible. They painted indoors and out, and helped in the garden with endless weeding, cutting the grass, trimming multiple hedges and even trying their hands at topiary.
We loved having them here and spent many evenings chatting and laughing over dinner and games of Perudo. They were so easy going and interesting to talk to. We miss their company, and hope they can be persuaded to come back! We know with these guys that that we have made friends for life.

The tasks given were very clear and well organized and when we had any question they were always willing to sort them out.
When the weather was good we worked in the garden clearing weed and leaves, trimming and shredding branches, we set up vegetable beds, we set up a big tent for ducks and chickens. During these dinners we had really good chats where we shared our experiences and got a good insight into British life and culture.
