I recently moved to the Algarve and am gradually building a new life for myself here; much is still in its early stages. It's a quiet, rural area with plenty of nature, little hustle and bustle, and a rather relaxed daily routine. My goal isn't for someone to have a traditional job, but rather to share a piece of life together and help a place grow.
Of course, there are things where I could really use some support. There's always something that needs doing with the hands, and helping out is very welcome. At the same time, this isn't mandatory for everyone; support with everyday tasks, cooking, help around the house, or simply keeping the place running smoothly is just as valuable.
This is a private project; there are no paying guests and no company behind it. In exchange for help, I provide living space with a shared kitchen and bathroom, and plenty of food. For up to 25 hours of help per week, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided. It's important to me that the whole experience feels good and more like a temporary living arrangement than work.

Ich bin vor Kurzem in die Algarve gezogen und baue mir hier Schritt für Schritt ein neues Leben auf, vieles ist noch im Entstehen. Es ist eine ruhige, ländliche Gegend mit viel Natur, wenig Trubel und einem eher entspannten Alltag. Mir geht es nicht darum, dass hier jemand einen klassischen Job macht, sondern dass man ein Stück Leben miteinander teilt und gemeinsam einen Ort wachsen lässt.
Natürlich gibt es auch Dinge, bei denen ich Unterstützung gut gebrauchen kann. Gerade handwerklich fällt immer wieder etwas an, da sind helfende Hände sehr willkommen. Gleichzeitig ist das kein Muss für jeden, genauso wertvoll ist Unterstützung im Alltag, beim Kochen, im Haushalt oder einfach dabei, den Ort gemeinsam am Laufen zu halten.
Das Ganze ist ein privates Projekt, es gibt keine zahlenden Gäste und kein Unternehmen im Hintergrund. Im Austausch für die Hilfe stelle ich Wohn und Lebensraum zur Verfügung, mit Gemeinschaftsküche und Gemeinschaftsbadezimmer und ausreichend Essen. Bei bis zu 25 Stunden Mithilfe pro Woche gibt es Frühstück, Mittag und Abendessen. Mir ist wichtig, dass sich das Ganze gut anfühlt und eher wie ein gemeinsames Leben auf Zeit als wie Arbeit.

The idea here is to do tasks together and experience everyday life in southern Portugal. The place is peacefully situated in nature, a little off the beaten track, and that's precisely what makes it so special – it's easy to unwind and clear your head. It's important to me that this isn't a meticulously planned affair. We live together, cook together, do tasks outdoors or around the house, and spend relaxed evenings. Often, the best conversations arise spontaneously, without any planning. The exchange happens naturally. Everyone brings their own background, and that's what makes it so interesting. Sometimes someone cooks something from their home country, sometimes we sit together and chat about anything and everything, and sometimes something just happens spontaneously. There's also plenty to discover here in the Algarve: small markets, simple cafes, local festivals, things like that. If you feel like it, you can go to the sea, sit on the cliffs, or simply wander out into nature. A lot of things just happen spontaneously. If you are open-minded, easy-going, and eager to lend a hand while also having a good time with genuine encounters, then this is a pretty good fit.

Hier geht es darum, gemeinsam anzupacken und den Alltag hier im Süden von Portugal mitzuerleben. Der Ort liegt ruhig in der Natur, ein bisschen abseits, und genau das macht es besonders, weil man schnell runterkommt und den Kopf frei bekommt. Mir ist wichtig, dass das hier kein durchgeplantes Ding ist. Man lebt zusammen, kocht miteinander, arbeitet draußen oder am Haus und verbringt die Abende entspannt. Oft entstehen die besten Gespräche sowieso ganz nebenbei, ohne dass man es groß plant. Der Austausch passiert ganz natürlich. Jeder bringt seinen eigenen Hintergrund mit und genau das macht es spannend. Mal kocht jemand etwas aus seiner Heimat, mal sitzt man zusammen und redet einfach über alles Mögliche, mal ergibt sich spontan irgendwas. Hier in der Algarve gibt es natürlich auch einiges zu entdecken. Kleine Märkte, einfache Cafés, lokale Feste, solche Sachen. Wenn man Lust hat, fährt man ans Meer, sitzt an den Klippen oder geht einfach ein bisschen raus in die Natur. Vieles entsteht einfach aus dem Moment heraus. Wenn du offen bist, unkompliziert drauf und Lust hast, mit anzupacken und gleichzeitig eine gute Zeit mit echten Begegnungen zu haben, dann passt das hier ziemlich gut.

As far as support goes, it's basically a mix of whatever needs doing in everyday life and around the house. A lot is still under construction, so there are always small DIY tasks where I could really use some help. This includes things like simple DIY or design tasks that gradually give the place more character.
The outdoor area is just as important. Gardening, weeding, tidying up around the house, and gradually bringing the grounds into a beautiful, harmonious state.
And just as important to me is support with everyday tasks. This includes cooking together, keeping things tidy, organising things, or even running errands, like shopping from a list.
Ultimately, it's not about anyone having to be able to do everything. Everyone contributes what they can and what they enjoy, and a lot of it develops naturally based on what's needed at the time.

Was die Unterstützung angeht, ist es im Grunde eine Mischung aus dem, was im Alltag und rund ums Haus gerade ansteht. Vieles ist noch im Aufbau, deshalb gibt es immer wieder kleinere handwerkliche Dinge, bei denen ich Hilfe gut gebrauchen kann. Dazu gehören beispielsweise einfache Heimwerker- oder Gestaltungsaufgaben, die dem Ort nach und nach mehr Charakter verleihen.
Genauso spielt der Außenbereich eine Rolle. Gärtnern, Unkraut jäten, rund ums Haus Ordnung schaffen und das Gelände nach und nach in einen schönen, stimmigen Zustand bringen.
Und daneben ist mir die Unterstützung im Alltag genauso wichtig. Dazu gehört gemeinsames Kochen, ein bisschen Ordnung halten, Dinge organisieren oder auch mal Besorgungsfahrten übernehmen, zum Beispiel einkaufen nach Einkaufsliste.
Am Ende geht es nicht darum, dass jemand alles können muss. Jeder bringt das ein, was er kann und worauf er Lust hat, und vieles ergibt sich hier ganz natürlich aus dem, was gerade gebraucht wird.

The accommodation is simple and depends on the current stage of the project. At the moment, it can include a room in the house or space for a camper/van on the land.
Facilities are basic, as the project is still developing, but we make sure everything is comfortable, clean and functional. You’ll have a peaceful environment surrounded by nature.
This is not a luxury stay – it’s a more authentic, grounded experience close to the land.
Meals are an integral part of the exchange program. Three meals are provided daily, usually breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
An important aspect is cooking and eating together, as this also contributes to cultural exchange. If, for logistical reasons, it's not possible to cook together, there is always enough food available so that everyone can prepare their own meals.
In addition, there is a shared food fund from which money can be withdrawn as needed to purchase groceries for shared meals.
It's important to me that everyone is well cared for and that a pleasant, communal atmosphere develops.

For me, it's not just about "help in exchange for accommodation," but about genuine community. Here in Portugal, I'm gradually building a place where nature, tranquility, and personal growth take center stage.
There's plenty to discover in your free time: The Algarve boasts beautiful beaches, and towns like Sagres are within easy reach – perfect if you want to surf or simply love the sea. We also have plans for small safari tours and nature excursions in the future, where you can experience the surroundings in a unique way.
I'm a master stonemason and sculptor, and I plan to offer courses in this field here as well. If you're interested in craftsmanship, creative design, or traditional techniques, you'll definitely find something to learn and gain new skills.
Having your own vehicle is advantageous, as we're located in a more rural area, but we always find ways to travel together.
Respectful, honest, and relaxed living is important to me. Everyone pitches in, but without stress or pressure – we work in a structured yet humane way. Orderliness, reliability, and open communication are important to me.

Bei mir geht es nicht nur um „Hilfe gegen Unterkunft“, sondern um ein echtes Miteinander. Ich baue hier in Portugal Schritt für Schritt einen Ort auf, an dem Natur, Ruhe und persönliche Entwicklung im Mittelpunkt stehen.
In deiner Freizeit gibt es hier einiges zu entdecken: Die Algarve bietet wunderschöne Strände, und Orte wie Sagres sind nicht weit entfernt – perfekt, wenn du surfen möchtest oder einfach das Meer liebst. Außerdem sind in Zukunft auch kleine Safaritouren und Ausflüge in die Natur geplant, bei denen du die Umgebung auf eine besondere Art kennenlernen kannst.
Ich selbst bin Steinmetz und Steinbildhauermeister und plane, hier auch Kurse in diesem Bereich anzubieten. Wenn du Interesse an handwerklicher Arbeit, kreativem Gestalten oder traditionellen Techniken hast, kannst du hier definitiv etwas mitnehmen und Neues lernen.
Ein eigenes Fahrzeug ist von Vorteil, da wir eher ländlich gelegen sind, aber wir finden immer Lösungen für gemeinsame Fahrten.
Mir ist ein respektvolles, ehrliches und entspanntes Zusammenleben wichtig. Jeder packt mit an, aber ohne Stress oder Druck – wir arbeiten strukturiert, aber menschlich. Ordnung, Zuverlässigkeit und offene Kommunikation sind mir wichtig.
Ich wünsche mir Menschen, die nicht nur „abarbeiten“, sondern Lust haben, Teil von etwas Sinnvollem zu sein. Wenn du Interesse an sozialer Arbeit, persönlicher Entwicklung oder einem bewussteren Lebensstil hast, bist du hier genau richtig.

Bei mir ist es absolut möglich, die Mithilfe mit eigener Online-Arbeit zu verbinden. Die Arbeitszeiten sind flexibel und wir gestalten den Alltag gemeinsam so, dass genug Raum für deine eigenen Projekte bleibt. Ich lege Wert auf ein entspanntes, respektvolles Miteinander – kein Druck, sondern ein natürlicher Flow zwischen Mithelfen, Freizeit und deinem eigenen Rhythmus. Langfristig ist auch eine stabile Internetlösung (z. B. Starlink) geplant, da die Gegend eher ruhig und naturverbunden ist.

Es gibt ausreichend Platz auf dem Grundstück, um Campervans oder Wohnmobile abzustellen. Die Umgebung ist ruhig, ländlich und ideal für Menschen, die Natur und Freiheit schätzen. Je nach Ausbauzustand stehen Wasserzugang, einfache Sanitärmöglichkeiten und Aufenthaltsbereiche zur Verfügung bzw. sind im Aufbau. Du kannst die Außenflächen, Gemeinschaftsbereiche und die Natur rund ums Grundstück frei nutzen – perfekt zum Abschalten oder kreativ sein.

Haustiere sind grundsätzlich willkommen, solange sie gut erzogen und sozialverträglich sind. Da hier viel Natur ist und perspektivisch auch mit Kindern/Jugendlichen gearbeitet wird, ist ein respektvoller Umgang und Verantwortungsbewusstsein wichtig. Bitte vorher einfach kurz absprechen, dann finden wir eine gute Lösung.
