    Hi Dear people,

We are a two-woman couple, married, living in Denmark, raising our baby girl (since June 2023) and a big Bernese mountain dog. We are both 38 years old. I am a Principal IT Project Manager working in biotech, and my wife is a pastor in the Lutheran church of Denmark. We speak English at home, as I am from Lithuania and my wife is Danish.

We have this huge house with a guest room, and we would love to host some people here, have a cultural exchange, and get some of your help with things around, like walking the dog, gardening, painting some walls, taking care in the house of daily stuff, helping with cleaning, cooking and etc. We live pretty busy lives (as we have a little child who now goes to daycare and we work full time), but still Workaway for me is a lot about culture, so we are looking for someone here to have a cultural experience, get to know you, etc., while giving us a helping hand in a hectic family life in a house :). But at the same time, be quite independent, see the town, etc. Happy to suggest what to see, and happy to do something during the weekend, but you also need to be independent enough to enjoy Copenhagen. So in order for you to have time, we do not host people who come to study/work in Denmark (then I believe you need to rent a place somewhere).

We live in Copenhagen, a few minutes away from the train station and 10/12 minutes by train to the city center. We also have an extra bike (even if it is a pretty old one..).

You would get your own room and then there a lot of space in the house we share, but many rooms so you can always find a calm place to read a book. We would expect you to be quite proactive - taking food from the fridge, cooking if needed - as I do not have time to serve food :). But happy to do shopping for food, and of course we cover expenses for groceries. As we also have a baby, we can't promise full silence - as a baby cries at night, etc. Also, you must enjoy being around kids - the little one is around a lot and wants to interact with people. So please, once you write to us, mention how you feel about being around kids! We also got a dog in 2025 summer - big Bernese mountain dog - so you need to feel comfortable around the dog too :)

It is also important that you speak good enough English (I would say at least B1-B2), and also, due to having a small kid and not wanting to introduce new people all the time, you should come for a minimum of 2 weeks; better for a month or longer.

If you have any carpentry experience, that would be super amazing because I would love to learn more myself.

Moreover, it is hard to plan more than two months in advance, so I would prefer if you write max two months before you plan to come :)

And lastly, if you come from Lithuania - always a priority - because I would love to have more people speaking the Lithuanian language at home with the kid :)

My wife is Danish and can talk a lot about danish culture. We also usually have dinners here with other danish people and she works in the church - so you can learn a lot interesting stuff about Denmark. Of course, no need to be religious (I am not religious myself) and all kind of diversity is super welcomed in our house.
I am Lithuanian, working in IT, so would be happy to have mentoring talks and etc. if you wish.

    Help like:
    - walking the dog in the morning (7:00 AM), at lunchtime, and in the evening (we can plan and adjust accordingly with your plans to explore Copenhagen)
    - taking care of the garden and outside - watering, removing leaves, planting, cutting grass and etc.
    - doing small cleanups in the house (windows, kitchen, fridge, vacuuming house, reviewing cupboards and etc). We have professional cleaning coming every two weeks.
    - some DIY projects - painting some walls, hanging paintings on the walls and etc.
    - helping with moving furniture around
    - sometimes cooking (we love guests who can and enjoy cooking...)

    Should expect up to 4-5 hours a day x 5 days a week :)

    Algo más...

Well, Copenhagen has endless possibilities to enjoy town, we live next to train station so super easy to reach anything in Copenhagen. Also, you can bike around.

We would like 1, max 2 people at once. Someone who likes order, likes spending time around kid, likes taking care of the house as it would be yours (so cleaning after yourself in bathroom or offloading dishwasher is not an extra duty), loves gardening (I would love to hear your ideas) and speaks good enough English (at least B1-B2 as with busy life with kid it is very complicated with someone who can't speak English).
Sometimes we have more guests in the house so you will have the possibility to meet more people here.
