Hi, my name is Angel, I am a kiteboarding Instructor and pro trainer for the International Kiteboarding Organization.
I run my own Kiteboarding School located in Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico, since 2011.
My main activity is managing the school; we are the biggest and most popular kiteboarding school in the area, we receive a lot of people for training and practicing the sport; I have 8 Instructors working under my supervision and 1 person who is in charge of the kitchen at the school.
I am looking for anyone that is willing to help me with the general maintenance of the school or my house which is in front of the kite school. A COUPLE IS PREFERRED for at least 3 weeks.
I am open to have you for longer time, like a month or more if it works for both parties.
I have 3 dogs and a cat, so being with these animals will be part of the day by day.
I want to invite enthusiastic and energetic people who wants to help me and at the same time would like to live in a peaceful, quiet town. The help doesn't enquire any specific experiences but it does require responsibility with the general maintenance of the school.
The max hours per day is 3, 5 days a week.
FOOD is not included.
IMPORTANT:
At the school we have a little kitchen for the customers, where a local cook is in charge of preparing the food and drinks; the workawayers WON´T BE requested to help in the kitchen for cooking, cleaning or any task regarding the restaurant or bar.

With us you have the opportunity to be close to the beach and beautiful visiting areas as cenotes, ruins and of course, the main city: MERIDA.
Beside that, you will have the opportunity to learn kitesurfing. I can get you good deal on a beginner course or renting kite equipment. Or if you want to borrow a Stand up paddle to go paddling in the morning I have some gear you can use at no cost.
If you are looking for a place to learn more Spanish this is also the right place to be, since you will be chatting with the locals every day. We can also take you diving in the Cenotes on a day off.

I am offering an independent room with a queen size bed, a desk, some furniture and a fan. It does not have AC, or a bunkbed in a shared cabaña, it will depend on how many volunteers we have already when you arrive.
At the school there are showers, bathroom, kitchen and internet.
I do not provide drinking water or food (unless you are a Chef we could deal something to share).
You will stay close to the nature (beach) and if you are a person that require high standards, this might not be for you.

Yucatan is well known for its rich cultural offer, the mayan culture in which is immerse makes Progreso and its surroundings an interesting spot in the map to stay and share experiences with the locals, learn about our pre-hispanic history, the customs of the maya people, enjoy the modern city of Mérida, relax and/or practice kiteboarding and other watersports.
Also the food is great, a lot of people comes to Yucatán just to enjoy the locals specialities. Yucatan cuisine is famous for its wide variety of tasty dishes.
The transportation system works good, there are local buses and apps like Uber or Didi working well and cheap.

Tiene un gran carisma y responsabilidad.
Me gustó mucho compartir con Gastón el tiempo que nos ayudó en la escuela de kitesurf, porque con una vez que supo cuáles eran las necesidades de la escuela fue suficiente para confiar en él y sus aptitudes.

Kyle stayed a short period but he was very efficient and polite.
We helped at the bar, running it for about 5h a day, for the 10 days that we stayed there. We prepared drinks, simple food and had a great time with all the kitesurfers.
