We are two guys in our thirties living in Almería, Simone (an Italian architect) and Pablo (a Spanish photographer). We got along so well that we became a couple, actually we’ve been together for a while now. We met in Rome where we were involved in eco-tourisim and cultural projects: Simone’s family owns an agrotourism farm near Rome and Pablo was working in a small old bookshop downtown.
As for us, we are easy going friendly people who are interested in politics and arts. We care about nature as well as all ways of sustainable development (that in which it’s made the most of the resources of the territory avoiding hard interventions when possible).
This summer we’re moving to Pablo’s grandmother old house in Los Albaricoques to work on it.

Among the works to be done we’ve listed the most important:
· Chipping, repairing and painting the inside walls with the old quicklime technique
· Painting the ceilings
· Painting the wooden stuff (doors, windows, beams, etc)
· Fixing the cracks in the roof and applying a rubber paint on it
· Painting the floor with a polyurethane paint
· Clear of scrub the garden and plough the soil
Since his grandmother died twenty years ago this house’s been kind of abandoned. Now it’s time to bring it back to its glorious past.
The house was built one hundred years ago so it keeps its original essence. It doesn’t even have tap water. We do it the old-fashioned way, or rather, taking water from a well which indeed is inside the house!!
Los Albaricoques is an old settlement at one of the most beautiful places in Spain: Cabo de Gata Natural Park. Although Los Albaricoques has always been really humble and for years its locals have been forced to work in the land (stockbreeding, wheat sowing, etc) in the late sixties it became a famous spot thanks to Sergio Leone’s Dollar Trilogy. He turned Los Albaricoques into “Aguascalientes” setting half of their films in the village and its surroundings. Actually, Pablo’s house appears in the films.
