We value a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and strive to create a meaningful and enriching experience for all our volunteers. We encourage volunteers to be independent and do their research before arrival but we're happy to engage in open discussions about Mongolian culture and the art of calligraphy.
The Center is located in Karakorum, the ancient capital of Mongolia, within the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape. It's situated near Erdene Zuu Monastery, the oldest Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. You can enjoy views of the monastery's stupas right from the center and appreciate the peaceful mountain scenery. At the same time it's conveniently located within walking distance of various grocery shops, restaurants, and just 800 meters from the local market.
Volunteers must secure their own comprehensive travel and health insurance for the duration of their stay. We provide detailed travel information (e.g., bus schedules from Ulaanbaatar to Karakorum) upon confirmation.
Mandatory 3-Step Application Process for 2026:
1. Application form & email submission: You must complete our online application form AND email your CV, Motivation Letter, and a skills demonstration sample (portfolio link for artists, or a written/video sample for non-artists) to our administrative email.
2. Mandatory video interview & tour simulation: shortlisted candidates will receive a description of an exhibition piece prior to the interview. The interview will focus on your ability to discuss and present this sample, simulating a guided tour.
3. Final confirmation: for successful volunteers
