We are a family of 4. We have 12 year old twin boys. We have been living in Spain and we love both Spanish and English culture and language.
We enjoy an outdoor life and our home in Christchurch in Dorset, is perfect for this with beaches and forest near by.
I love to swim and surf and we like to paddle board and windsurf as well. And we would like to share those activities with people fro other cultures and places too
We are near the New Forest which is just beautiful and peaceful as well.
We like to connect with people from all around the world through Workaway and have in the past traveled to visit with previous workawarers to places we would have never thought of visiting.
And we love to go fishing too

Christchurch is lovely but it is also near to the lively town of Bournemouth where there are lots of things to see and do.

We are all learning Spanish and we are happy to share our world with someone right at the beginning of their language journey - so you don't have to have any English to come to our house :)

We have a Garden house with a lounge and sleeping area - its separate from the house - so you can have privacy and spend time with us.
Our house is in walking distance to Christchurch 10 minutes and a 10 minute cycle from the beach ( you will have use of a bike or longboard if you prefer)
We keep a large selection of cereal and fruit for breakfast and generally have a light lunch and main meal in the evenings. We try and eat together for two meals everyday but this does not always work.

I took the best memories of my stay with Mary and Chris and I totally recommend them, they are the most athletic parents I have known. From basketball and marathon in the sea to windsurfing in the icy English waters. (warm waters for Mary🤣).

This is a really nice and competent young and joyous young man. He was with us for over the summer and into the Autumn, when we saw him off to his new adventure working in Andorra. We actually caught up with him and skied with him in Andorra as well. He has truly become a family friend.

I lived 3 months in Christchurch with Chris, Mary, Ted and Charlie. It was an incredible experience, I helped around the house with various tasks. They are very kind and have helped me a lot. The children are very intelligent and fun, I really enjoyed being with them.
They treated me like one of the house, I met their family, we went places… read more together and shared many beautiful moments.
We remain in contact to this day, we recently skied in Andorra and shared a very pleasant dinner.

Simply amazing. this family is incredible.

Mary and Chris always did help and motivated me to practice my English many times asking me and talking about a lot of themes was truly kind with me.

The kids did make of my experience something so dynamic and funny with his occurrences, was so good can play in the garden football, basketball and to go at the sport practice, Ted later you must teach me the backflip.

estoy muy agradecido por su confianza... en la que me han permitido desarrollar la creatividad en múltiples proyectos, como por ejemplo una cancha de básquet adaptada para niños, crear arboles artificiales dentro de la casa, realmente su confianza ha permitido que hiciéramos cosas increíbles juntos :)

Damian came to us for 3 months and he is wonderful - I have twin boys, one of whom needs extra support. He is kind and patient. And he has so many skills:
He cooks wonderful food and amazing sushi!
He cleaned my house - and really helped around the house when i was unwell.
He played football with my boys for hours and hours - and they… read more really do miss him so much.
He built a wonderful basketball back wall and decorated it with the children
he understands children well - and always sets clear limits and communicates in a way which raises their self belief and confidence
He undertook amazing art projects using the nature around us
He helped clean the drains, organise my sheds .....
He worked with my partner to pay insulation in the roof
we are really looking forward to seeing him back for a holiday in May - Damian we miss you !
There are no ends to this mans talents - I truly believe that there is nothing he cannot do.
And he really helped all of us with our Spanish as well!

It was amazing, better than I could never imagine. I've felt as a member of her family since the beginnig, even before my arrival, Mary took care of every detail, sent me pictures of my room, showed me how they were preparing everything for my stay there, ... Which made feel welcome in advance.
It's really easy to stay with them, Mary, Chris and… read more the boys are amazing, each minute with them has been wonderful, I feel we have learnt together about languages, culture and life. They showed me Christchurch and its surroundings, the beaches, the rivers, the forest, ... everything. They always listened my suggestions and Mary always found the way to make the best for everyone and make us all feel happy.
I went there for 4 weeks, and I finally stayed 6 weeks with them ;)
Mary and Chris are lovely, patient, flexible, funny, helpful... and all the good things you can imagine. And the boys ... they are fantastic, adorable, funny... If you have the chance of staying with them, do not hesitate! The experience would be the best!
