We are a convivial and open-minded family with three young boys and two cats and are looking for someone to join our family and help us in our daily life while we have a cultural and language exchange.
Hello dear workawayer
We are very happy that you found our profile and would love to introduce ourselves.
We are a warm-hearted and nature loving family of five: Pascal and Sandra (both 40) and our three adorable and happy boys, Gian 5 years old, Lars 3 ½ years old and Finn 1 year old. We also have our two beautiful cats Leo and Kimba living with us. We live in a house with a beautiful garden at the edge of the village Niederglatt, canton of Zurich. Pascal is self-employed and working full time. Sandra chose to stay at home as the family grew to be with the kids. We all love being outdoors, hiking or skiing in the mountains, cooking on the fire in the nearby forrest or simply enjoying our garden.
We both enjoyed travelling before we had kids and spent a lot of time in Canada (Pascal) and Australia (Sandra) in younger years. We plan to go abroad on a family sabbatical when the kids are a bit older. Until then, we happily invite workawayers to our house and enjoy some cultural exchange at home while getting some help with the children and in the household.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

We would love to learn more about your country and culture as well as your travels and lifestyle and are happy to tell you about ours and of course show you around our area and beautiful Switzerland. We’d also love to speak English again as we have not had the chance to do so much lately. We are also looking for someone who speaks english to our children so they can get familiar with the English language in preparation for our sabbatical abroad in a couple of years time. And we are sure they are happy to teach you some Swiss German in return 😊. We are also happy to teach you how to cook on the fire in case you should not know yet.

We are looking for an open-minded and warm-hearted person to join our family and help us in our everyday life with the children and the household chores. That would include to play with the children, help with cooking, dishes, laundry, cleaning, groceries, helping the children getting dressed, feeding our smallest one, help in the garden, etc. We would split the tasks between us or do them together. In general you would not have to be alone with the children as I (Sandra) am not working. Though depending on the length of your stay and on how you and the children are feeling, you may stay alone with the childern or some of them for an hour or two while I (Sandra) go grocery shopping, drive our oldest son to kindergarden, have a doctors appiontment or enjoy the occasional quiet coffee at the nearby bakery or whatever. We also have the grandmother of the children living in the same village who is happy to look after the kids or of course I take them with me where possible.
There is no need for you to speak German, on the contrary, we are looking for someone who speaks English to our children (preferably a native speaker) so the children can get familiar with the English language with regards to our planned family sabbatical in a couple of years time.
Our oldest son Gian goes to an outdoor kindergarden in a nearby village, currently on three mornings a week and after the summer break (end of august) on four mornings plus one afternoon a week (monday-thursday).
We expect you to work approx. 4-5 hours a day on 5 days a week. Generally on the weekdays, but that can be arranged as it suits everyone. In return you have free accoomodation and free meals at our home. On your «workdays» we would take the meals together. Of course you are also very welcome to eat with us on your days off if you are around, without any extra charge. On excursions on your free days you would basically cover your own expenses.
We mainly eat vegetarian/vegan. There is no problem though if you wish to eat the occasional piece of meat.
With regards to the length of the stay we are quite flexible. Between one and three months would be ideal, but a minimum of two weeks would also be fine. If you should have other preferences please let us know and we can discuss it.Idiomas hablados

We live in a two storied single family house with four bedrooms at the edge of the village Niederglatt, canton of Zurich, close to Zurich Airport. You would have a bedroom on the first floor with a single bed. The bedroom also contains a couch and a wall unit with drawers and shelves. We have two bathrooms, a bigger one with a bathtub on the first floor and a smaller one on the ground floor with a shower. Both have a toilet and a sink. To shower we would all use the bathroom on the ground floor. On the first floor there is also our bedroom we share as a family and a kids play room. On the ground floor there is the kitchen and the living room as well as another small room for the kids to draw and do handicraft work and a piano. Especially our eldest son loves to be creative. The house is surronded by a beatiful garden, there is a terrace, a lawn for the kids to play, a sandbox, a trampoline and a swing on a tree, a small jacuzzi and a little vegetable garden. Accross the quiet street in the front of the house are fields with paths, ideal to go for a stroll or a jog.
