Welcome to our tropical island home on Koh Mak!
We are a Thai-German family who has been living and working on this beautiful island for over 20 years. For many years now, we’ve been welcoming volunteers from all over the world to share in our daily life and projects.
In line with the core values of Workaway—cultural exchange, mutual respect, learning, and meaningful contribution—we host one volunteer at a time during various periods throughout the year to support our small team.
Volunteers should be able to assist our team with all tasks connected to our daily work . We are espacially looking for volunteers who have skills in interior design . You should enjoy working with what’s already there and turning it into a fresh, new room concept. This includes refurbishing furniture, adding new colors, and rethinking room layouts.
The resort is home to many beautiful pieces, including Thai antiques, which sadly are not currently shown to their full potential or are stored away. We’re looking for a creative new concept that brings these unique items back to life and thoughtfully integrates them into the design.
We provide a kitchenette, equipment and the ingredients for preparing meals and also offer food prepared by local restaurants from time to time.
All the ingredients we provide are vegan/vegetarian.
We are a resort focused on health and fitness on Koh Mak, an island with a very welcoming local community. Koh Mak is a small and tranquil island.
We are a smoke-free resort and promoting a healthy life style.

There's a nice community of longstaying guests, volunteers and nomads from all over the world on Koh Mak. They are part of the local community and joining all kind of activities together, like Muay Thai boxing, Thai cooking, Thai Dye with local made colours and Thai language classes. If you are open minded and friendly you will be part of the Koh Mak community instantly.

The tasks our team helps on are discussed and assigned during staff meetings—they vary depending on the season, the number of guests, or upcoming events.
No two days are ever the same :)
Volunteers should be able to assist our team with all works related to our fitness programs and simple garden works .

There a lot of activities to do on the island like: diving, snorkeling, kayaking, biking, muay thai boxing, yoga, tennis, pickleball, badminton, cooking and more :-) During monsoon season activities might be limited.
