  Hello! We are a family of three living on beautiful Saltspring Island BC. We live in a sunny valley nestled between mount Maxwell and mount Erskine. You will stay within walking distance are hiking trails, surrounded by forest, hiking trails, and a beautiful creek. Our work away will stay in a private “tiny house” cabin complete with a full kitchen, loft bed, outdoor shower and outhouse. We are looking for someone to provide care for our 1.5 year old son, so our work away will spend time with other parents in the community and have access to a family car. We have two friendly dogs, two cats and chickens, so there are lots of animals and neighbours in our community to get to know!

  You will experience rural Canadian life in a friendly and vibrant island community. Salt spring is famous for its natural beauty, artistic and eclectic community and wonderful food. Our family consists of a teacher, contractor and our baby son, so you will get to know the island through the eyes of locals.

  You will help our family care for our 1.5 year old son Maximo. This includes going to play groups, walks, play, and other kid friendly activities.

  Stand alone tiny house with apartment kitchen, loft bedroom, outdoor shower and outhouse. We will provide supplies for breakfast and lunch and cook a shared supper. You can also request to have supper on your own or with friends if you like, as you have your own house!

  We are looking for someone to care for our son on weekdays. This means taking him to playgroup in town, and playing with him at home. You need to know how to drive and have a licence. You also need to like and be comfortable with little children (1.5 years old). Our house is not walking distance from town because we live in a very rural area. You will be able to use a car to take our son out or get a ride with us most days. Our community is very close so neighbours can also offer rides, and hitchhiking is normal.
