Come help us at our country home which is surrounded by thousands of acres of wildlife management areas. We live in a large, old house which was originally designed as a hunting and fishing lodge.
Joseph is a retired professional photographer/part-time farmer and Deborah was a voice teacher at the University of Florida as well as in her private studio. We're both well-traveled and feel you will benefit from a cultural exchange here.
Don't worry if your English isn't perfect. We're open and easy going with mixed communication and will make the effort to meet you where you are in your language ability.
The land is mostly wooded, with a small pond. The air is clean, with hardly any light or noise pollution (still a good bit of nature noise) and stellar views day and night.
This is natural wilderness, with all the critters that live here - if you are afraid of spiders, snakes, lizards and other creatures, you will probably not be comfortable here.
Living a bit on the wild side, our yard needs to be tamed, so we are in need of help with general weed-pulling, raking, cleaning gutters, some landscaping etc.
No skill required, we just need more hands.
Our area is also rich in cultural opportunities. We can help you arrange trips to several nearby museums and historical sites.

Don’t miss the nearby Florida Museum of Natural History, the Butterfly Rainforest or the Harnes Museum of Art.
There are often theater, and musical performances at the Philips Center for the Performing Arts, and the Hippodrome State Theater.
We’re surrounded by wilderness, plentiful wildlife and recreational opportunities such as photography, hiking, boating, fishing, birdwatching, etc. Want to see some HUGE ALLIGATORS in the wild?
A short day-trip to the coast and you can see the endangered manatee or visit historic Saint Augustine, North America's oldest, continuosly inhabited city.
Plentiful crystal clear springs and rivers waters offer kayaking, canoeing, tubing, snorkeling, and upright paddle boarding. There is even a canopy zipline nearby!

PLEASE NOTE: You will not be expected to contribute to any form of business or market activities.
We value curiosity and those who are highly organized, fit, adventurous, and open-minded.
Guests can contribute as many hours as they wish, with no more than 15 hours required per week.
In general, your schedule would be 4-5 hours on the weekdays, we can set a work schedule for the week to work around any activities you would like to schedule and of course your Weekends would be free to go have fun!
There is endless work, and it is both varied and sometimes strenuous.
While we use professional tradesmen with bigger projects, you can help by joining with us on gardening, cleaning and light maintenance.
Joseph also can often use and extra set of hands-on various projects such as cleaning and organizing in the workshop.

here in the big city I'm already craving your place's peace and freedom. It's the perfect surrounding to find your "own" peace and freedom. I really enjoyed my whole stay. We had some utterly nice dinners. A lot of healthy vegan (and it is not only accepted/ tolerated, it is normal) food and different conversations.… read more
