Our project is an attempt at creating a utopia as a community with various geometries and a fair economy founded on sharing and giving to serve a project.
This masseria combines culture and the arts in all their forms and without hierarchy agriculture, visual and sound arts, cooking, literature and everything that can exist between and besides, with people at the center.
Our villa in Sicily, a landscape shaped over centuries by its inhabitants, is an island in the center of the sea linking three continents, a place of passage — open to the world.
Initiated by the 2 owners in a valley between Ragusa and Modica in the Hyblean mountains with the aim to revive the stones, the aia, the capella, the villa, the masseria, to learn, share, redefine, transmit and build
Nostro progetto rappresenta il tentativo di costruire una utopia, una comunità a geometria variabile,
un’economia equa fondata sulla condivisione e sul dono al servizio di un progetto.
Intende associare cultura ed arti di tutti i generi, senza alcun pregiudizio gerarchico: agricoltura, arti visive e sonore, cibo, letteratura e quant’altro vi si possa unire, mantenendo sempre presente la centralità della persona.
Questa masseria è un luogo di passaggio a immagine della Sicilia, aperto al Mondo, come l’Isola, in mezzo al mare, tra tre continenti, modellata nei secoli dalle donne e dagli uomini che vi hanno vissuto.
Nasce in una valle tra Ragusa e Modica dalla volontà dei proprietari di rianimare le sue pietre, l’aia, la cappella, la dimora e la masseria per apprendere, trasmettere, condividere, ridefinire e costruire
.
Notre projet est la tentative de mettre en place une utopie, une communauté à géométrie variable, une économie équitable basée sur le partage et le don au service d’un projet.
Qui associe la culture et les arts sous toutes leurs formes et sans hiérarchie l’agriculture, les arts visuels et sonores, la cuisine, la littérature et tout ce qui peut exister entre et à coté, avec au centre les personnes.
Cette Masseria est un lieu de passage ouvert au Monde à l’image de la Sicile. Île au centre de la mer liant 3 continents, terre façonnée au fil des siècles par ses femmes et ses hommes.
Elle est née de la volonté des propriétaires de faire revivre les pierres, l’aia, la cappella, la villa, la masseria dans une vallée entre Ragusa, Modica sur les monts hybléens pour transmettre, apprendre, partager, redéfinir et construire.

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje
You can learn some small notions of renovation of a house: lime plasters, paints, waxing terracotta... and for the bravest learning of the renovation of Sicilian dry stone walls with local artisans... Otherwise there is also a lot of gardening work depending on the season: targeted weeding, shrub sizes, soil preparation, permaculture development, fruit harvesting and preparation of preserves... And we speaks together in French, English and/or Italian. Not Sicilian yet !

Ayuda
Part of the villa is already renovated but there are still finishing works: coatings, paints, treatments of the frames... Also the 7 gardens must be requalified and landscaped: vegetable garden, olive and walnut garden, citrus, dry garden, aia... Finally, we must feed and play with Lina and Ugo the two puppies that we collected on the side of a road two years ago...

Alojamiento
2 studios with 1 double bed and 1 single bed and a bathroom and a small kitchen are available and one smal dormitory for 3 persons.
We will prepare food together for lunch and we will cook for the evening dinner. Everything is include except wines and beers. -

We are in the heart of the Val de Noto, a world heritage site. The farm is 8km from the centre of Modica and 12km from Ragusa and 29km from the sea. There is a bus and train network from Modica station. One of the most beautiful preserved countryside of Sicily with the most beautiful dry stone walls.
