We spend 2 weeks at the wildlife shelter & farm and it was truly an incredible experience. Don & Lyn are super kind and lovely people, we enjoyed spending time with them. Even when i was feeling really sick a couple of days and had to pause my duties on the farm, Lyn was looking after me and didn't seem dissapointed.
The duties on the farm were

We were sleeping in the bus and it was really cozy (after we got it heated😬) .
The area is really peaceful, because you are in the middle of nature. This volunteer was such a great opportunity, to connect with nature, adorable animals and humans! We are really thankful for this time!

What a great way to end my travels around Australia!
It was great to meet Lyn, Don and family and see all of the effort put towards looking after all the animals.
It was quite special to be able to bottle feed baby wombats whilst seeing kangaroos relaxing in the garden!
I really enjoyed being able to experience the variety of animals within the

It was great to help out with some of the animal feeding routines as well as some organising too.

During my short stay with Lyn and Don, I developed a true appreciation for the dedication and hard work required to care for dozens of rescue animals. There was something magical about caring for and cleaning up after wombats, birds, donkeys and more. The animal shelter is required to return all animals to the wild which means the time spent with
… read more them is that much more special. The experience gave me insights into wild animals and animal care that I have not gained anywhere else in my travels.
Don and Lyn model what it means to truly care for these animals. They are both incredibly knowledgable and shared that knowledge any time I showed interest. The pace was casual and there were plenty of different kinds of jobs to choose from. I felt like my contribution was small compared to the amount of work to be done and at the same time felt the work I did was appreciated. Lyn and Don made it easy to feel like I was useful to the bigger effort.
If I ever have the chance to go back, I hope it will be for a longer stay.Dejado por el anfitrión para el workawayer (Anne)
Anne was amazing, fitted in so well, shown a task and we knew she would get to it. Lots of animals to feed and care for here so the task of caring and feeding and cleaning after them is continuous. With the help of Anne, we had a bit of a break from it. Anne was so good with the kids, entertainment and knew when to break a bad situation, and she

I spent one week at the shelter at the end of my trip in Australia. Definitely one of my best weeks out of 9 months. I loved taking care of the animal so much, and I learned a lot with Lyn and Don. They are amazing people who love what they're doing. My usual tasks were to feed the animals (Donkeys, chickens, ducks, pigs and of course, the

It's hard to describe in word this amazing place, but if you want to relax near the fire with a kangaroo, bottle feed wombats, discovering the variety of tasks to do in a farm, playing new cards game, having fun with the kids, sleep in one of the most amazing bed in the world ( for real haha), enjoying Sunday pancakes and globally laughing for the all time there, just go :)
I want to thank you Don and Lyn for the wonderful time I spent with you. Such people as you are becoming rare and you're not so often surrounded by welcoming, sharing and lovely people like you. Thanks for everything :)Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Chris and El were lovely, kept working well without being told, routines were picked up quickly and they didn't need prompting. They didn't give up even in bad weather and were observant on things they saw need d doing. Clean as and they easily fitted into our family. El loved to cook and Chris took his jobs seriously, battled the hot weather and

We had an amazing time with Lyn and Don. They welcomed us into their home as part of the family. We really enjoyed looking after and learning about the wombats at their shelter. Bottle feeding the baby wombats was a really great experience. We helped look after the farm animals too; ducks, pigs, donkeys, sheep and chickens! On top of looking after

We will miss Lyn, Don and all the animals and we highly recommend this Workaway. Thank you both for this fantastic opportunity! 😊Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

A very big thanks to Don and Lyn. Thank you for making me feel like one of the family. I had an awesome week learning about a variety of different animals. Too short but even sweeter!
I spent (only) 10 days in March at Lyn and Don's place but I'm so thankful for every second.
From day one they make me feel like a part of their family. It's incredible what you folks are doing there and always with a smile!
You involved me in every single task, gave me a barrow full of trust, teached me some new card
… read more games ;) and gave me the chance to experience the wonderful work with baby wombats, kagaroos, possums, ducks, sheep and so on!
I miss all of this so much (ecspecially the feeding of the little wombats, which is by far the best start in the day you can ever get) and hope to see you all again one day.
Thank you! And I send you lots of love!
