My partner and I spent two weeks in March/April 2025 with Rachel and David. From the day we arrived, they welcomed us warmly and ensured throughout our stay that we had everything we could possibly need.
We stayed in a double bedroom with a private bathroom and had access to the kitchen at any time.
Since most of the work was independent, our
… read more schedule was very flexible. This allowed us to start early in the mornings and enjoy the afternoons exploring the beautiful surroundings or taking their two lovely dogs for a walk.
In just two weeks, we accomplished quite a lot on their stunning property. We installed a gutter on the shower hut, treated, cut, and built natural wood for a fence, removed an old wire fence, took out old tiles, and moved soil from a landslide to help insulate the shower hut.
We’re incredibly grateful for their trust, the great tips for our trip to Barcelona, the fun DJ evening, and all the new skills we gained. Rachel and David are an inspiring, caring, generous and passionate couple whose positive energy is truly contagious. We wholeheartedly recommend them as hosts.
For future Workawayers, having a car can be useful, but it’s not essential, as there are good connections from the nearby village to the closest town. From there, you can take a train or bus to places like Barcelona.

… read more enjoyed helping them make their project's dreams come true. While working on fun projects like putting together a bamboo roof from scratch, making a sawdust deposit, building walls in a bathroom unit, and clearing up forest paths/prepping forest wood among lots of other little projects, we learnt so so much during our time there. Construction work to wood work, to dog care, to creativity, to forest knowledge, and loots lots more! We left with so much knowledge:) Who knew we would learn how to lay bricks from 0!!?
We had a blast listening to their life stories ( they lived so many experiences!), and enjoyed sharing incredible food with lots of flavors (David is an amazing chef and Rachel also cooks and bakes really really well!) and had lots of laughter, deep conversations and music! They trusted us to take care of the house/land and of their cutest dogs Rafa and Giorgio for some days while they were away. We are forever grateful for the experience we lived there! These guys are amazing! Hardworking, conscientious and great people. Volodymir brings a load of experience with huge muscles and Olga is almost as strong! They are also great cooks and we enjoyed trying their food and sharing stories. We can highly recommend them and hope that they come back. Thank you both so much! We miss you!!
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the one-month stay with David and Rachel. From the moment we arrived, we felt their friendliness and hospitality. The living conditions and their attitude towards us made us feel at home. The house is perfectly located for those who appreciate peace and quiet.
The accommodations are pleasant and
… read more comfortable, with a spacious bathroom, a private restroom, and a beautiful view. The volunteer work mainly involved the reconstruction and renovation of houses and facilities on the property. We would like to emphasize once again that the hosts are amazing people—hospitable, kind, cheerful, caring, and at the same time respectful of personal space.
We sincerely recommend these hosts and can confidently say that we will miss this place, the wonderful people, and their two beautiful dogs, Giorgio and Rafa.
And one more thing: the host, David, is a professional chef, and we were lucky enough to try dishes from different cuisines around the world.

Rachel & David, I feel so grateful for you for welcoming me 1 month and a half in your incredible universe. Your place in the mountains and the forest is a treasure of beauty and serenity. This place is full of history and positive energies, which is why participating in the birth of your retreat project was an honor for me. I thank you for making me feel at home, for sharing all these moments of meals, laughter, wine and cheese tastings 🤩, celebration through music and dance. And also it was really nice to have offered me a resting space where I could do meditations and big bonfires 🔥🔥🔥....
I loved beautifying the areas, working the land and making constructions with the wood of the forest and Renato the Shaman of the forests 🤟.

Andrea was an excellent guest and workawayer. He came with his cousin Mattia and they stayed for 2 weeks. In this time they removed some very difficult and tricky Mimosa plants that have overrun certain parts of our forest. They also did general help on our building, including painting and singlehandedly replacing all of the wooden base boards in
… read more our kitchen. We were also lucky enough to experience their Carbonara and Tiramisu, which we enjoyed very much. They arrived as strangers and left as friends. Highly recommended and we hope to see them again. We are also grateful to Andrea for giving our puppy his new nickname Giorgio. :)
