Daisy and Paul made sure that I felt comfortable and at home with them and they offered delicious and high quality food. It felt so good for my body and soul! I already miss the crunchy hazelnutbutter and aaaall the different options on toppings for your oats in the morning (granola, nuts, fresh fruits, berries, …) 😍
Daisy herself is a warm-hearted woman who is filled with a lot of life✨🍄🌱 She is so good to her children and her whole lifestyle was inspiring to me! I've found her to be very creative, profound and intuitive in what she does.
The work that needed to be done was very manageable. What I did was mainly cleaning and keeping the house tidy but I also did for example some cooking and painting. 🎨
It was such a nice feeling having little chats or eating lunch with her in the garden after she came home from work. Those were such bright moments and I could tell how much she appreciated the housework being done ✨🧽🪞
Concerning your freetime, there are lots of possibilities how to spent it! The bike is great to feel indepent and to organise yourself just as you like. Clonakilty is a lovely little and colourful town with everything you need. I often visited the horses of a riding school nearby and I loved spending time at the beautiful beaches and cliffs 🌊

I spent four weeks with this wonderful family in Ireland. Daisy and Paul immediately allayed any concerns I had because it was my first time travelling alone and my first experience with Workaway. I worked during the week from 9 am to 12 or 1 pm. Every day I made sure that the kitchen was clean, all the toys were in the right place and the floor was hoovered. I cleaned the bathroom and mopped the floor every 2-3 days. The rest of the time I did various other things (e.g. hung up the washing, mucked out the storage room or cooked dinner). The work was never difficult and Daisy and Paul have shown me a lot of appreciation for it. I babysat the children from time to time, which was always great fun (I now know every Daft Punk and Billie Eilish song by heart).
I fell in love with Clonakilty and the surrounding area. There are so many great cafés, restaurants and shops. In the afternoons, I sometimes cycled to the nearby beach, which was so beautiful. Daisy and Paul were always very helpful and often offered me a lift to the bus stop. They even went on little trips with me and we also celebrated my last day.

I spent an unforgettable time in Clonakilty about 2 months.
I had a lot of fun surrounded by Daisy who always humming a melody nicely, cook colorful and healthy homemade dishes, Paul who is humorous and talks casually, energetic and imaginative children and an amazing cat.

… read more playing origami, playing the piano, dancing, and art was my favorite time. And I did deep conversation with Daisy and it gave me a lot of inspiration and motivation.
The interior and furniture in the house are also nice and very comfortable and I was relaxing in the fireplace on the cold nights and my mind and body were warm.
I really appreciate that when I caught a cold, Daisy worried about my physical condition and prepared special drinks and baths.
On my day off, I went to a famous local pub to listen to music and joined the local art class. It was easy to use a bus, so I could enjoy traveling some West Cork areas. Also, I was able to borrow a bicycle, so I often cycled to the nearby very beautiful sea.
I was supposed to stay for only one month but eventually, I extended to stay there. I was spending there in winter season but I can imagine that it will be so beautiful places in any seasons.

I am having a hard time starting this review because my time with Daisy and her family was an absolute dream! I feel like my words will not do my experience justice... I seriously could not have asked for anything more!! Daisy, Paul, Mikey, and Cara all exude such a genuine and warm
… read more energy you cannot help feeling immediately at home and at ease. They took me in last minute when I had to change my plans because of bad weather which makes me feel like it was meant to be! I am not exaggerating when I say every single day was filled with belly laughs, yummy food, amazing conversation, and authentic connection. It was everything you could hope for in a workaway but also what you hope for in life in general which is why it felt so special. I loved coming home and talking about what happened in our days- celebrating the good things, cursing the bad, and sharing and laughing at the embarrassing! It was such a pleasure to be a part of their family for a couple of weeks and to be leaving with so many warm memories for such a short period of time.
Daisy is incredibly flexible with the work load and allows you to just go for it, whatever it may be. While I was staying my main contribution was cleaning which I actually really enjoyed! The work load is so light I was easily able to take day trips and explore when the weather was nice (this is actually something Daisy encouraged me to do even though it meant I would work less hours)! You can easily access Clonakilty from their home which gives you an opportunity to really immerse yourself in this beautiful community that Daisy and Paul are very much a part of. If you are looking for a stay where you can slow down and really experience what it means to be a part of another culture, this would be the place to do it.
This is going to be a ten paragraph essay if I go on (and I definitely could) about how lovely everything was. I could not recommend this family enough and will sincerely miss hanging with them every day!!

I find it difficult to find words for my stay in Clonakilty because my experience there was too beautiful to confine to a short text. When I think back to that time, I think about about the lovely two children, Daisy's singing, the fantastic trips with new friends, the deep talk conversations with Daisy and Paul, the beautiful house with a great
… read more view, my cozy bed in the cottage and the wonderful Clonakilty community.
I worked every weekday from around 9 am to 12 pm, cleaning and tidying up the house. Time always passed quickly, and I often listened to the radio or simply enjoyed the silence. It was important to ensure that surfaces were clear and clean, the floor was swept, and toys were tidied up. After that, I had plenty of time to focus on a project in the house, such as cleaning windows or organizing the craft cupboard. Daisy gave me a lot of flexibility. I only babysat the children a few times, but each time was so enjoyable. Spending time with the children is very pleasant as they already have such wonderful little personalities, and you can tell they are receiving incredibly valuable upbringing. What I found particularly beautiful was the daily gratitude I received for my work (even from the kids). It didn't feel like I was cleaning someone else's house but rather creating a home for Daisy, Paul, Cara, and Mikey where they could feel comfortable, allowing the family more time for the important things in life.
The family welcomed me warmly and always tried to involve me. I never felt unwanted. Of course, Daisy and Paul were busy with work and children and couldn't always go on trips with me or engage in lengthy conversations in the evenings. Nevertheless, there was never a day without a question about how I was doing, without a great conversation, or without a shared dinner. And there were also a lot of days when wonderful things happened. For example, Daisy took me to the beach with the children on the first day or watched the sunset with me and the children at the cliffs on one of the last days. Nevertheless, I also found it important to have the possibility to do things with au pairs around Clonakilty. There is a huge au pair group in Clonakilty that does something every weekend and occasionally meets during the week.
Lastly, I want to share my love for the area. The southwest of Ireland is breathtaking. Inchydoney Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland. And there are also great places a bit further away that you can explore on a day trips. Actually, you don't have to go far, as the small town of Clonakilty alone is already beautiful. There are cute, little shops and cafes and many performances in the local pubs. You will experience an authentic Irish town life which offers a unique blend of warmth, community spirit and a slower pace of life (with strong Gilmore girls vibes).
I will never forget the time in Clonakilty and will carry it forever in my heart. And perhaps I will even move there someday—Clonakilty will always be my Plan C <3

… read more they were very relaxed about it. Despite having some personal problems going on, I managed to do a good job cleaning and organizing the house and they were very happy with the result.
Whenever they could, they gave me a lift into town and when it wasn't raining I could go for walks or ride my bike. Daisy is a great cook, excellent singer and yoga teacher! It's great to hear her singing around the house haha. The children love arts and crafts, they are very creative and fun. Seeing Paul and Daisy's relationship with the children is heartwarming with so much love involved. I was happy to witness it. The only inconvenience is using the bathroom at night and leaving the cabin, especially when it's cold and raining. But it's nice to have your own private room outside the house, the cabin is cozy.
I cooked most of my breakfasts and lunches and was happy when I could cook something for dinner too (especially pão de queijo and feijoada) I was glad they liked it. I'll miss the teas with dark chocolate and the lovely chats about the conversations about life.

… read more nervous about what it would be like. They made everything very easy for me, since from the first day they made me feel like one of the family and they took great care of me so that I felt at home.
During the two months I lived here I could feel very integrated in the family, laughing and chatting a lot with Paul and Daisy, going to Daisy's wonderful yoga classes or playing and having a great time with the kids doing baking, painting, jumping on the trampoline, going for walks to the river or doing any fun activity. I miss them too much already.
At the same time I was also able to be very independent and have a lot of space for myself to do whatever I wanted thanks to the flexible work and working hours that varied depending on the needs of the day and the circumstances. I fell in love with the whole house, especially my cabin where I slept, it is very cozy and as it is away from the house it gives a lot of privacy.
The truth is that I fell in love with everything I lived in this experience thanks to these 4 people and all the people I met in Ireland that I will always carry with me (besides the kitten and the chicken that was my best friend hahaha). I was blown away by how beautiful Ireland is in general and most of all, Clonakilty and its surroundings, along with its scenery, wild beaches and pastures.... I will never forget it.
It is going to be very difficult to overcome this experience, I will always carry it with me in my heart as will the 4 of you.

I spent one beautiful month with Daisy, Paul and the kids in Clonakilty. From the moment I arrived into the cosy house with two gorgeous kids dancing in the sitting room they completely welcomed me into the family.
It's such an easy going house and it was really easy to slot in and feel comfortable. There was always a laugh to be had and Daisy
… read more and Paul are very interesting to talk to. The kids are great fun and just get stuck in. They love playing and dancing and are full of imagination. They're so nice to be around. The youngest falls asleep listening to Brice Springsteen every night - I think thats a good indication of character!
The work was really chilled, I just did whatever was needed on the day and then any other tasks I thought might need doing around the house. I'd let out the chickens and feed them in the morning, tidy the kitchen and living area, maybe do a school run or a dinner. There are great chats to be had on school runs!
The house is really nice, there's a lovely window seat to sit and read, and a great view from the shower! The bedroom is beautiful and bright, I felt like I'd lots of privacy, and the ensuite is such a luxury. Daisy and Paul both cook delicious meals and were also happy to eat whatever I cooked. The cupboards are full of ingredients.
There was often a friendly face popping into the house and there's a great sense of community in Clonakilty. Even in the short space of time I was there it was easy to get to know people, through sea swimming and at the farmer's markets. There is such a range of fresh food available. Daisy's yoga classes are amazing, it was an absolute pleasure to join them. If you're not already convinced, just go for the yoga!
...and the beaches. There are so many breathtaking beaches nearby you could visit a different one every day for a month.
The time I spent with these four open hearted people was so special. I'd my own space and time, while feeling like I was part of the family. One word of warning - it's very difficult to leave!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.
