What an incredible couple weeks I had at the farm with Stephen and Kerry. They are both a wealth of knowledge and generously shared that and their products with me and everyone that visits the farm. Never a dull moment on the farm, there is always something to do, clean out chicken pen, look after the chickens, ducks, clear the grounds of fallen fruit under the trees, planting, weeding, general jobs around the house and house paddock. Thanks so much Stephen and Kerry, I will miss you both and all the farm animals (Floki the border collie the most). All the best in future endeavors and I'm positive we will see each other again. Much love Charlie

We spent a wonderful week with Kerry, Stephen. We really enjoyed the experience in their farm, the food was fully from the garden! So, really tasty (more than everything else) and well cooked. We became fat because of all this amazing food 🥵
We had the chance to help during the sheering of the sheeps, it was really impressive.

How to start to describe a workaway stay which startet one week before the first lockdown due to Covid-19?!
Stephen and Kerry had been willing to hosted me at a very uncertain time just before the regions went into lockdown not kowing how long I may need to stay at their place but giving me a safe sport to stay First of all I am so grateful for

This wasn´t just a workaway. My time at the Frostys became a home away from home. I am so thankful about all the experience I could make and share, on the farm and even with them as a family.
This is an extraordinary place with so many things to learn about farming, sheep, environment, sustainibility, agriculture, biodiversity.....
It is very impressive to see what Stephen and Kerry have built over the years on their property and how every step has a bigger picture (sustainability) in mind.
It was my first farm experience in Australia and I couldn´t have had a better one.
I assisted with so many things I sometimes I can´t even remember. :-)
But I love the diversity of the tasks and getting a bigger picture of (sheep) farming.
Moreover I was lucky to attend two major events of the year: shearing and lamb marking. Which was amazing to be part of.
But there is not only the farm.
There is this amazing self-built farm house. So I have such a big respect for Stephen and Kerry that they already thought of sustainable building and housing 20 years ago and created this wonderful home by themselves.
There is also the garden with all the veggie gardens, fruit trees, chucks and ducks- where you can always give a hand to proceed. It was so interesting to help with that and see the approach of being self-sufficient with your food.
I def got interested in growing my own veggies when I´ll go back home.
And I loved taking care of all the animals, not to forget the amazing dogs Jess and Floki.
There are so many things you can learn from Stephen and Kerry in every sense of life.
I am so thankful for the time we spent together and all the inputs and inspiring talks.
I can highly recommend to stay with them.
I am very happy and thankful about all the memories we can share now and I hope I´ll able to visit the farm again.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Sari stayed with us for 10 weeks as an Intern and it was a pleasure to be her host.
It has been great to have international travellers that are keen to experience and learn our culture and how we live and farm.
Sari fitted into our family life and was so helpful and very talented, wishing her all the best for the future :)

I used workaway.info to find a place for an internship. I studied animal husbandry(graduated 3rd of june) and this trip was part of my studies. My journey lasted for 10weeks and I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Stephens and Kerrys place! They were very enthuastic about their way to do farming and teaching it to me. Stephen and Kerry arent farming in a traditional way as many other farms are, but their soil, sheeps and garden shows you that their way is even better way to do farming! Havent seen such a healthy looking sheeps and soil with such a small effort in farmwork. Its all about farming and taking care of the soil in a way that it supports the natural microbes and minerals in the soil and helps it to grow better.
Perfect place for students doing their internships in agricultural studies! I loved their farm, house and of course the family:) They were kind to me and took such a good care of me all the time and took me to all those beautiful places in weekends or days of from work.
And the best of all: nearly everything Kerry cooked for meals was from her own garden, yammy! I will miss those fruits and veggies, cos you cant buy them from the supermarket (wont taste the same :'( )..
Thank you Stephen and Kerry for having me, I learned a lot from you guys about farming and gardening that I couldnt have learnt here in Finland!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

I've stayed at Spehen and Kerry's for about three weeks.
I had the chance to got to know them as persons and as farmers, and all I can say is that they're wonderful people. They're very easy going, the kind of people that love a good laugh!
They expect you to work and make your own contribution (rightly so!), but they have very fair working
… read more hours for guests and, if you give them your best, they surely will give you theirs.
On the farm, I did the most various jobs and experienced many different things, from working with sheep, to help gardening, from planting and feeding animals, to help with construction, painting and chopping fire wood! I experienced setting traps for crayfish, and I had the thrill to be active part and witness my first (relatively) big controlled bush fire!
Stephen and Kerry had also been so gentle to show me around the area, organising trips to some of the many gorgeous spots in this lush region, and to Albany.
You're treated as part of the family, with the same rights and responsabilities. They're both very good cooks, and the table is always full of (very) local products, mostly from the farm itself!
They take pride in what they do and how they manage the farm, and rightly so! The farm, the gardens, and the house are all little gems, with many relaxing spots and lots of beautiful sceneries! (ask Stephen about the concept of garden rooms : P )
Even a newbie could see that the animals are treated with love, so as the plants, the native bush, the wildlife, and even the normal paddocks!!
Stephen and Kerry love to pass down their knowledge about things, and when we talk about gardening, farming, constructions, and many other things, they have much of it. If you're interested in anything concerning the farm, don't be afraid to ask! They also love to hear about your culture, your experiences and points of view: they'll enjoy a friendly debate and are very open minded people!
Finally, they're hard workers, but they love to enjoy life, and the atmosphere at home is very relaxed! In addition, Kerry is a talented artist, so, if you have a soft spot for carving or painting, you may find yourself working on some project of your own, in your free time :)
I totally recommend this place to anybody willing to have a real farm experience, meet great people, and discover how there are alternative and more natural and sustainable ways to lead your life (and farm): Stephen and Kerry actually know what they're talking about, and are more than willing to pass down their knowledge.
