Descripción
My place is a fresh and participative project in a rural area in the north of the Canary Islands, surrounded by farms, nature and traditional agriculture. I live in a small house with some land, where I’m learning and experimenting with bioconstruction: renovating caves, building with stones, and restoring furniture using natural and local materials.
At the same time, I’m working on planting autochthonous plants and trees and creating a permaculture garden, to learn how to live more in balance with the land.
Friends and family help me from time to time, but the idea is to grow into a space that supports local development, self-sufficiency, and creative projects that make sense for the environment; from building to arts and crafts.
Workawayers would join in this process, learning and sharing while helping with the ongoing projects around the house and land.

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje
I’m from Spain, usually based in Berlin, and I speak Spanish, French, and English.
The exchange is about learning from the land and from the local community. Even if I'm not from the island, I do believe it is essential to understand the current challenges that come with massive tourism on the islands. I hope volunteers can connect with the local reality, appreciate its uniqueness, and contribute in a respectful and conscious way.
Ayuda
I’m looking for people interested in hands-on, creative, and ecological work. The help depends on the ongoing projects, but usually includes:
- Bioconstruction and renovation: working with natural materials, helping to renovate old caves, build stone walls, repair and paint surfaces, or restore wooden furniture.
- Gardening and planting: preparing soil, planting and caring for autochthonous plants and trees, maintaining a permaculture garden, and supporting the creation of small systems for self-sufficiency.
- General maintenance: helping keep the house, land, and outdoor areas in good condition.
- Creative or community projects: sharing ideas, artistic skills, or knowledge related to sustainability, building, or local culture is always welcome.
No special skills are required, but a positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn by doing are important :)

Alojamiento
Workawayers have their own room in the house and access to all shared living areas: kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor spaces.
The house is simple and located in a quiet rural area, surrounded by farms . It’s a comfortable place for those who enjoy calm environments and fresh air.
We usually share meals or cook together using local and seasonal ingredients. I try to keep food simple, healthy, and mostly vegetarian, using products from the garden or nearby farms when possible. When schedules differ, Workawayers can use the kitchen freely to prepare their own meals and all basic ingredients will be provided.
We share the space with respect and try to keep things practical and ecological in daily life.

Espacio para aparcar autocaravanas
There is space on the land for campers or motorhomes. However, there are no specific facilities for water or waste, so it’s more suitable for people who are self-sufficient in that sense.

Podría aceptar mascotas
Pets are welcome with some limits. Dogs need to stay outside the house, and since there are no fences, they must be calm and well-behaved around open land and nearby farms. Cats can stay inside the house.
