* Volunteers needed for the late part of the season and for the winter*
It is october when I am writing this and we still have some more weeks with guest. From around mid november we will start with more other type of tasks as painting and preparing the campsite for a new season, some smaller building projects and some outdoor work. For this type of work we are looking for volunteers that likes to DIY, have basic carpentry skills, are good at painting, handy and enjoy to work outside on different projects. In camp season we are also working on smaller projects and upgrades, but we spend most time to take care of guests. We are especially looking for volunteers over 25, but we’re open to hearing from anyone with a willingness to help—so don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to have you be part of our little community! Read on to learn more about us and what we offer.
We are looking for volunteers for our campsite, which is located one hour south of Oslo. We are a non-profit foundation, which was established in the 1950s and our guests are children and youth groups of 40-100 people. Our groups can be anything from scouts, students, families, schools, religious groups, marching bands and choirs. We have rabbits and free-range goats and chickens and very nice outdoor areas. Our high-season is summer, but we also have some visiting groups throughout the rest of the year, especially at weekends. In the summer, longer camps are more common, and we offer services such as board and lodging and cleaning.
Our non-profit foundation campsite has been run by us for the last two years. We are Tor Magnus and Ingrid, and we live here with our two children Herman and Hedvig. Here, in the last 10 years we have been lucky to have many volunteers to help us with the daily tasks. Without the volunteers' contributions, it would not have been possible to run the camp and make the upgrades we have had in recent years.
We offer a stay in a social environment and we usually have many volunteers here at the same time. Depending on the size of the projects and how many guests we have, we are mostly a group of 4-8 volunteers. We are looking for people who are handy,loves to cook, likes gardening and outdoor tasks, have a good sense of order and can work independently, but also like to help as a team. We offer varied tasks, such as cleaning, gardening, lawn moving, feeding and cleaning for the animals, small project as building outdoor games, cooking, photography of the site, website development etc. Anyways, when so many of us live close together, the characteristic for us is that you are tidy and that you get along easily with other people. The spoken language at the Campsite is English. Our expectation is 25 hours of help per week. Being part of a non-profit NGO, we're sorry to say there are no opportunities to give any payment.
We are privileged to have many people who would like to stay with us, long-term is preferred.

I had a very Nice Time here. The camp site is located in a very beautiful area. You have nice walk around a lake, in the forest, along the cost... Marianna and her family are very nice, talktive. They make everything to feel you as your home. It's a camp site so of course you don't have toilet and shower in your cabin but you just have to walk 30m

Poor Hannah came walking along on a sunny day. Warm and tired after the long journey all she needed was a shower and rest before giving us a hand in the crazy kitchen.
Hannah is great, always yes and are now able to prepare food for a 100 people:-)

I had the most wonderful volunteering experience in Nærsnes. Marianna and Martin are two of the kindest people I've had the pleasure to meet. The surroundings are stunning, the work keeps you fit and I can't recommend it highly enough. You will never want to leave!

We really enjoyed staying with you.It's nice that we could make some new friends and we also miss the walks through the Naersnes. The surrounding area is beautiful and if you like lakes and forests, your really be pleased. They are such a lovely and caring family and we had a great time with them. Best wishes and greetings. :)

Friendly, easygoing and selfpropelling. Being christmas and familytime we didn't get to talk an awful lot, but I can definite recommend Adam for being open minded and friendly.

This is a fantastic place to visit right on the coast. It was absolutely beautiful and there are lots of opportunities to explore the local forests and coastlines. Marianna was lovely and very accommodating, giving me everything I needed and more. I would highly recommend spending some time here if you enjoy being outdoors all day and relish
