This is my home — a stone house in the mountains near Borgo Pace, on the border between Tuscany and Marche, close to the Alpe della Luna, with Sansepolcro and Urbino both within reach for a day out. I live here quietly, and I like sharing that life with people who are curious about it.
We look after the garden and the woods together — planting, gathering wood, keeping things tidy — the kind of thing that just comes with living out here. Meals are usually a group effort, and conversation tends to run long, in Italian and whatever other languages end up on the table.
What I'm really after is company: people interested in a different pace of life, happy to pick up some Italian (or teach me a bit of theirs), and up for exploring the area on quieter days — there are markets, sagre, and good walking all around in Umbria, Marche, and Tuscany.
I'm often around but sometimes away for a stretch, so this works best with people comfortable finding their own rhythm once settled in, and who like to talk.

Fonte Abeti sits right on the Tuscany-Marche border, tucked into the forest, with Florence and the wider Tuscan and Umbrian countryside close enough for a day out — proper rural Italy, with some of the country's best landscapes and historic towns nearby.
I like meeting people from different places, and Workaway has become a way of sharing this home and this corner of Italy with them. Staying here means real countryside life — home-cooked food, local traditions, days that move slower than you're probably used to — plus Florence, Urbino, Sansepolcro, and the Alpe della Luna are all within reach if you want to wander further.
I'm happy to point you toward the best local spots and day trips, and tell you what I know about the history here — and just as keen to hear about where you're from. It's a two-way thing, not just a room for the night.

    Help requested
Depending on the season, this might look like:
Helping tend the garden — planting, weeding, watering, harvesting
Gathering and stacking wood for the colder months
Light upkeep around the house and grounds — sweeping, tidying, general care
Cooking together, using what's growing or what we pick up at the local market
Lending a hand outdoors when there's clearing to do in the woods or around the property

Nothing here requires experience — just a willingness to pitch in and learn as you go. We usually spend a few hours a day on this together, leaving plenty of time for exploring the area, resting, or just enjoying the quiet. It's more about sharing the rhythm of life here than following a fixed schedule.

You'll have your own room in the main building — simple and comfortable rather than luxurious, given the property is still an active renovation project. We have running water, electricity, and reliable internet (Starlink), so you won't be roughing it, but do come prepared for a rustic, countryside setting rather than a polished guesthouse.

Meals - We will share breakfast together and occasional lunch. A stipend of 30 euros will be given as a stipend to cover the costs of buying ingredients for dinner

    Algo más...

Location: We're rural — the Borgo Pace area, right on the Tuscany-Marche border. You'll need your own transport or be comfortable relying on lifts, since public transport out here is limited. I'm happy to help sort out pickup or logistics for your arrival — just let me know your travel plans ahead of time.
Physical side: There's real outdoor and hands-on work involved — garden, woods, general upkeep around the house. Nothing that requires experience, just a willingness to get stuck in.
Weather/season: We're up in the hills, so conditions shift — worth checking the season before you pack.
Language: English is fine day-to-day, but picking up some Italian goes a long way here, and I'm happy to help you along with that.
Flexibility: Life out here doesn't run on a fixed schedule — weather changes plans, some days are quieter than others. I'll always keep you in the loop, but it helps to come with a relaxed, flexible mindset rather than expecting the same routine every day.

The connectivity side is actually solid: we've got Starlink internet on-site, which gives reliably fast speeds for remote work — video calls, uploads, the usual. So if you're worried about being cut off out here in the hills, that's not really an issue. That said, a few honest things to flag: Workspace: There isn't a dedicated office setup yet so a proper desk/quiet-work-nook situation is something we'd figure out together depending on which room/area is liveable when you arrive.

There's room for a campervan or two on the property, with electricity and water hookup — no fee, same spirit as the rest of the stay. It suits people who'd rather sleep in their own space but still want to be part of the garden work, the meals, and the language exchange during the day
