After traveling the world for 2 decades, either for humanitarian work or to discover other cultures and countries on my motorbike, I recently moved into a super cute old little farmhouse in Normandy. I'm living together with a little cat who decided that my couch was better than the street. I welcome anyone who's willing to pull up their sleeves, regardless of age, sex, religion, or food preference. People in a wheelchair or with limited physical capacity can access the house, but will face a little challenge getting to the bathroom which is upstairs. There's a solid hand rail on the stairs, and I'd be happy to support if needed (professional background in physical rehabilitation).
Jobs to do vary from gardening, preparing a chicken shed, chopping fire wood, painting walls, building kitchen cabinets, etc. - as much as possible by hand and with reclaimed materials, so you'll find no Ikea manuals here :) Some building or gardening experience would be useful, but an energetic mindset more important. Skills we can learn ;)
The house is comfortable, easy to reach, with a beautiful sunny garden and barns allowing all sorts of DIY projects to be undertaken! It's a really lovely place, completely habitable but in need of some painting, insulation, and the garden is waiting to be turned into a vegetable and fruit heaven. You'll be staying in your own room with private bathroom, or sharing a bigger room with other volunteers if more than one are there at the time. Space enough to pitch a tent as well, or to park a camper van!Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

With many bags fulls of stories to tell about my numerous travels, there will never be a silent moment around the camp fire, or in front of the wood burner. Vice versa, I am very curious to hear about your experiences too!

Handy hands are welcome! Kitchen renovation with reclaimed materials, simple building, easy going. If you're a woodworker/craftsman you'd be very welcome to help me replacing the wooden doors.
Sanding and painting indoors, walls and ceiling.
Are you up for gardening? Pruning is on, as well as preparations of several vegetable patches.Idiomas hablados

You'll be staying in your own room with private bathroom; shared room with other volunteers if more than one are there at the time. If you prefer to pitch your tent in the garden, that's completely fine as well. The nights are silent and dark, the skies full of stars!

I'm not living with the clock but you can expect to be busy for about 2-3 hrs in the morning and 2 hrs in the afternoon... more or less. Weekends are off - whichever 2 days you decide to be weekend. On the days that we're 'working' I provide food and basic drinks - I'm happy to take reasonable dietary wishes into account and I'd be happy to share the kitchen: you're welcome to show off with your chef's special recipes or join in experimental cooking dishes with local products.
There're plenty of footpaths/mountainbike/motorbike trails straight from the doorstep, including the 'voie verte'. The coast is about 40' drive, with le Mont St Michel waiting for you to visit, as well as the D-day beaches.
Nice old and characteristic medieval villages around - it'd be great to have your own transportation to discover them!Un poco más de información

Small vans can access the property. I've lived in vans for years myself as well! No dirt water dump or emptying chemical toilet fluids (it'll kill the septic tank).
