April was the lambing season, I ve discovered and learned so much new things !
Andreas is patient and answered all my questions. If I wanted to learn to do stuff by myself, he took time to show me properly and to explain.
We have done so many different things : lambing, milking lambs, milking cows, checking the fence, collecting the sheeps, etc.
So if you want to learn new things and you like to work on a farm, it's the place to go !
Forever gratefull for that experience !Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

I don't know how to describe the month I just spent with this wonderful family. For a first experience, how lucky I was to discover this little corner of paradise, deep in the Norwegian Fjords, surrounded by animals and mountains.
April is really the best time to come here, especially for lambing. This month was so dense in farm work, but at the

During my free time, I had the opportunity to live the real Norwegian life: mountain hikes, barbecue, paddle, canoe, bike... there is plenty to do in this little corner of nature.
Also, I even got to spend a night in their cabin at the top of the mountain, it was an amazing evening.
Ramus & Gustave, the two children of the house are incredibly kind and willing. I had a great time playing with them.
Camilla and Andrea, the parents are always ready to share their experience with you and tell you the best about Norwegian culture.
I also met father-in-law Trond, who is a passionate and deeply kind person.
I will miss you all and the dogs, especially Spurv and Kellie, with whom I had endless cuddling sessions.
Thank you for everything and for this month that I will never forget in this wonderful country.

My stay at the farm was my first workaway experience. The farm is located only a few hours from the town where I go to university. I went there to be close to nature and animals and experience farm life while writing my MA thesis. I stayed for 3 weeks and it was everything I had hoped for. I arrived to meet 17 puppies, a few days old, that I was

I also helped out with housework, some cooking while Camilla was away, spent time with the children, took care of the dogs. I got to do some real farm work: Andreas patiently taught me to milk cows and answered all my farming questions. I think I learned a lot about what farm life entails. They were careful to give me time to work on my thesis as well. Every day I would go for hikes in the mountains with the dogs Spurv and Teal. In the evenings I would go on shorter walks with the ancient border collie Spot. I also spent one night in their cabin halfway up a mountain, a great experience, beautiful view. I got to know the boys, Gustav (8) and Rasmus (4), we had a lot of fun jumping on the trampoline etc. Really lovely kids; happy, outgoing, playful, very fond of each other. Miss them already. I very quickly felt like a part of the family. I also spent much time with Camilla's stepfather Trond, we went for hikes and even did a Covid test together (negative, fortunately). Good times! A few days before I left another workawayer arrived: Zoi, who had been there several times before and was going to help with the lambing. We got to spend some time together as well, which was also very nice! I am so happy I went to the farm and got to know this beautiful family.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

We spent a month in the farm living with Camilla and Andreas family during the month of April as our first workaway experience. We had a wonderful time living with them and experiencing the farmer life.
Camilla and Andreas were very generous with us, sharing everything they have with us, and were very flexible with our days off.
We stayed during
… read more lambing season, so it was a lot of work but unique experience ! As other reviews say, the everyday farm task consisted mostly of feeding, cleaning and collecting sheeps and wild sheeps, milking the cows, taking care of the lambs, feeding the oxes and working on the fields. We learned a lot working with Andreas who is a very calm person and passionate about his farm, he spends almost all of his days working at the farm. When we arrived Camilla was still working away for a week, so we also had to take care of the children Gustav and Rasmus some days at home. They are very funny and Gustav can speak very good english so he can also translate things to Rasmus when you want to ask him something, you can see that these brothers really love each other.
The house is located in the Sandeidfjorden and has a wonderful view. There is a lot of moutains to hike around and lots of trails to follow, we were very lucky with the weather so we really enjoyed walking around the farm, sometimes with the dogs or the poney.
We got to meet Trond, Camilla's step-father, with whom we did a lot of hiking and he even drove us to Bergen and let us crash at his place for 2 days ! He is one of the kindest and nicest people we met and we had a lot of interesting talks as he also stayed in the farm for 10 days.
Camilla and Andreas were really nice to us, always interested in us and how things work in France. Everytime Camilla was going to do something outside, with or without the kids she offered us to come with her. We felt at home as part of the family.
We got to share a month with very open people and this alone made our stay unforgettable, and we'll really miss those people comming back home.
So thank you very very much for letting us in your life and hopefully we'll see you again in the future !

I had a beautiful time at Strandnes Farm in Sandeid. The family is very open, kind and the kids are lovely! My time was a good mix of working and having also a lot of free time. The area around it is amazing and you can do a lot of hikes just in the mountains around the farm. They always asked me if I want to come for trips with them (skiing,

Sometimes they can be a bit messy but that's what you should expect when you have two small kids, a cat, three adults working on a farm/outside the whole time and also sometimes there are one or two dogs in the house.
I can only recommend this place and I hope there will be an opportunity to visit them some day again :)Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

We stayed with Camilla’s and Andrea’s family for two months in the Spring. The house is located in the Sandeidfjorden and it has a beautiful view over it. Our work was divided between taking care of the children, house-keeping and working in the farm.
The work in the farm was wonderful and hard. We had the opportunity to learn so many new things!
… read more When we arrived it was lambing season, so we helped with the sheep birth. This was very special! Despite that, we did many tasks such as feeding, cleaning, vaccinating and collecting sheep and wild sheep, taking care of the lamb, feeding the oxes, taking care of rabbits and quails and working on the fields.
Andreas is very passionate about his animals. He really works 24/7! He is very patient and always tries to help you on your tasks. We were just disappointed about milking the cows, since we never got the chance to do it, although we asked several times.
The work in the house was a daily task, since everyday we had to clean the kitchen/living room. They can be very messy! We took care of Gustav (5) and Rasmus (2) on their daily routine. Gustav was in the kindergarten and speaks very good English. Rasmus was at home everyday with us and was very funny with never ending energy! At home we also took care of the garbage, folded clothes, cleaned the garden and deck, cooked, went to the supermarket and helped in whatever was needed!
The schedule was different everyday and it was difficult to make a plan! In result, sometimes we didn't know what we were going to do and when it would end which made us work for more hours than expected. Sometimes it was also difficult to plan dinner - we always offered to cook. When Camilla cooked it was very good!
Our bedroom was very good and spacious with a view over the fields and the fjord. We had our own bathroom. The internet works perfectly and we were free to cook, eat and wash our clothes anytime.
We really appreciated that they borrowed their supplementary car for us to drive around the area. The location is perfect to discover this part of Norway.
We had the chance to meet Trond - Camilla’s step-father - who was really kind and received us at his home in Bergen twice.
Andreas’ mother and father live in the farm and were very kind too. Vitalii is a dedicated worker and he fixes everything!
One of the best things was to meet ‘Marguerita’ (as we called her) - a Norwegian breed lamb which lived with us at home. We miss her!!!
Camilla was communicative and very dedicated to her dogs (we missed all of them too!). Unfortunately, we will never understand why she never said goodbye to us at the end of our stay or had a final talk, like Andreas did, since nothing happened wrong between us. That made us sad since we stayed at their home for 2 months and we totally dedicated ourselves in every single day we stayed there - taking care of their kids, house and animals!
We wish to all family the best and to Gustav and Rasmus a great future ahead!
We learned good lessons here for our lives! Thank you for hosting us!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.
