Help on our homestead and small farm learning how to care for livestock near Nelson, New Zealand

  Hi there, we have approximately 53ha between two properties. The main homestead is on 4ha and the remaining 49 ha is a small sheep and cattle farm. We are a middle aged couple with three adult children (all have moved on and embarking on their own careers) and two lovely dogs. You will have your own room, bathroom and toilet upstairs at the homestead. We have a large open plan kitchen/dining/lounge but if you would prefer your own space there is a separate lounge. We have a reasonably large garden and we are within 10minutes of the nearest town (Richmond) and also the very quaint little Mapua township. We are close to beaches and a 40 minute drive to the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park, 25 minutes drive to Nelson. From time to time we need help at our holiday home in Golden Bay with garden maintenance, deck cleaning etc.

  Learning new skills with livestock (sheep and cattle) and finding out about the beautiful piece of the world that we call home.

  Ayuda

  We require a bit of help with weeding and keeping up with our garden, some general household chores, collecting firewood, window cleaning etc. we also would be offering a bit of help on the farm with the stock (sheep and cattle), during August/September is lambing season. We also need help checking and repairing fences. If you are interested , we would love to hear from you.

  Your room and bathroom facilities are upstairs in the homestead. It has a comfortable queen size bed and a small TV.

  We are close to a nice beach 5 minutes away and Abel Tasman National Park 40 minutes away where there are beautiful walking tracks, beaches, swimming, kayaking etc. Beautiful Golden Bay is less than a 2 hour drive over the Takaka Hill. We have a holiday house there which we also need help with maintenance.

  Spot

  Spotty is a very friendly borderline needy elderly stock dog who loves people and any attention directed towards him. Sadly Spots old mate Murphy recently passed away. He is very sadly missed.
