I run an English school in Ilhabela, on Brazil’s south coast.
I live in the same building, and the atmosphere is a blend of a school and a seaside family home.
We’ve welcomed many people from different countries through Workaway and other platforms, and it has always been a vibrant and enriching experience.
Tasks may include helping with English classes, interacting with students, and assisting with general maintenance and renovation projects around the property. -

Ayuda
At the moment, we're looking for volunteers who can help with house maintenance and renovation projects, including painting walls, doors, windows, gates, and furniture, as well as basic carpentry and other hands-on tasks around the property. We're particularly interested in people who have some practical building or maintenance experience and are happy to get involved in physical work.
We especially welcome native English speakers who may also be interested in occasionally taking part in activities at our English school, such as arts and crafts, cooking, yoga, music, conversation clubs, hiking, and other cultural or recreational activities.
We are located in a central area of the island, with supermarkets, shops, cafés, restaurants, and other amenities within walking distance. The island itself is a tropical paradise, offering countless beaches, waterfalls, hiking trails, and breathtaking scenery to explore during your free time. In the evenings, you can enjoy live music, cozy cafés, local restaurants, and a relaxed atmosphere.
There are also plenty of opportunities to practise yoga, capoeira, stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, sailing, and other water sports.
We provide breakfast, lunch, and an evening snack on weekdays. On weekends, breakfast is provided, and volunteers are welcome to use the kitchen at any time to prepare their own meals.
Weekends are completely free, giving you plenty of time to explore the island and enjoy everything it has to offer. -

Ilhabela (Portuguese for Beautiful Island) is an archipelago and city situated 4 miles off the coast of São Paulo state in Brazil. The largest island, although commonly called Ilhabela, is officially named Ilha de São Sebastião (St. Sebastian Island). It, the other islands (Búzios, Pescadores and Vitória) and the islets (Cabras, Castelhanos, Enchovas, Figueira, Lagoa and Serraria) make up the municipality of Ilhabela.
The islands in total cover 348 km2.To access the city, one must take a boat or ferry in São Sebastião, as there are no roads which reach it. -
