  Come work the land with me- there are strength in numbers!
  
  Hello workaway-ers! I am a queer (if you do not support the lgbtq+ community, please don't reach out) woman who enjoys connecting with all walks of life. I've spent all of my 20s and some of my 30s traveling this beautiful world; with my thumb out on the side of the road, living in a car, flying to other countries with my pack, camping under the stars, hostels, farms, and homes!
  I utilized this website for different experiences and my itch to be of service while traveling to Australia in 2019
  Now being on the other end, with property, 4 acres to tend to as well as a vision to bring to life, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with all I have to do.
  While speaking to a friend, she reminded me that people want to help others and I thought, maybe ill give workaway a go from the other side!
  This is a new experience for me, stewarding land; its been a rewarding 2years of discovery and learning.
  I'm still fine tuning the vision and often figuring things out as I go. The people that live off of my road have welcomed me with such love and acceptance that they are the true gift here! While they're a good bit older, we are all very tight knit and enjoy having shared meals and game nights. I do my best to absorb as much knowledge from them as I can, being that most of them are farm folk! I recently got a lesson on riding the tractor to carry my load in fixing the road.
  
  The house is up on a ridge line and parking is limited up here. However, there is a strip of land by the creek for event parking that can also be used for parking/ car or tent camping for helpers. I've been working building the trail from the creek up to the house, although it can still use tweaking maybe re routing and love!
  It is my first time trail building; it is a learning process.
  There is a 1000sqft timber framed space above the garage. My vision for this space Is to create a art collective as well as a safe space for workshops!
  I feel the upmost importance to explore what we and others are passionate about, feel/share our emotions and reclaim our power, to heal, without and within. To get curious and deconstruct the conditioning we are born into and taught.
  To deepen connection; with ourselves, each other and the earth.
  
  I do have adhd which means there are many ongoing projects that haven't reached completion.
  
  There is currently one pup on the land, Rhea is a 2yr young chawienie, she is good with other small dogs but it takes her a little more time in finding comfortability with big dogs! She is a sweet girl.
  There's also a fair amount of neighbor dogs that come for visits!
  Chickens are soon to follow!
  I love animals, and if you have a dog that's friendly with others dogs I'd consider a stay.
  The land is absolutely beautiful here! You can hear the water running all year, there's a swimming spot in the creek! The French Broad River is also less than a miles away!
  Watching everything pop up and bloom here in the spring is very special, so colorful and lush.
  There is so much medicinal medicine, flowers and fruit!
  There's a nice stone firepit that you are always welcome to cook, craft or hang out around!
  
  I really love connecting with and learning about the land, foraging, making medicines, harvesting materials for weaving, carving spoons by the fire, making healthy food for people, baking sourdough, sharing land projects/ working as a team. body doubling.

  I love basket weaving, gardening, the benefits of plants and making medicine with them, sharing meals, sourdough making.

  Folks with any earth skills; Especially carpentry and gardening/ permaculture skills would be the most useful to me at this time!
  A studio space that is in the process of being built needs some carpentry hands
  
  Trail maintenance is constant and always needs hands on deck!
  currently joint compounding the walls in healing space, which will be followed by sanding and panting
  some gardening, creating-planting-weed pulling- cutting back brush.
  I have a small area for livestock. I want to push the fence back a bit further so there's more space.
  I eventually want to create a cob sauna down by the river.
  
  maximum 2weeks stay
  
  I will either be doing a project on the land or helping out with these tasks as well! I enjoy learning new things as well as working with others!
  Again, honest communication as I have learned in the past is very important in this realm!
  This land is not a space to project insecurities or judge others.
  We accept others as they are here.
  Self-awareness, vulnerability and the willingness to communicate are all a must!
  It is absolutely necessary for helpers to have the self-awareness and willingness to be vulnerable enough to express their needs and boundaries. Solution based mindsets are very much appreciated!
  Wanting to share your skills, interests and strategies is encouraged!

  Alojamiento

  There is a bed and futon couch in the event space. Room for car camping by creek or space for tent camping- I have a tent available if needed. Porch hammock space as well.
  There is an outhouse and will soon be an outdoor shower once I get everything connected.
  Mini fridge available for storing food, burner for cooking. My kitchen is also open to use as long as you leave it looking how you found it!

  I have a parking area that is gravel right beside the water shed, flat creek. Which runs into the french broad river. There is space for campers/ motorhome/ vehicle
