Our family, our home and our farm all survived the fire, but this has been a devastating time for our community. We invite you to help but please make sure you can be respectful of our grieving community.
    ————————
Our beautiful three acre off grid fruit tree farm is near the ocean and next to a stream bed in Northwest Maui. We grow banana, papaya, ‘ulu, lemons/limes, coconut, avocado, and noni while operating a thriving farm stand. We are a family of 4 usually have two to four workers with us depending on the season. Our land is sacred and we invite you to join us as a fellow caretaker.

Honolua Bay is a short walk from the farm and is famous for snorkeling and beauty. Mokuleʻia beach is a 15 minute walk away and is one of the nicest beaches in Hawaii. Honolua also has great Hawaiian cultural and historical significance which you will learn about while you are here.

We invite good people who will be positive additions to our happy and healthy community. One of our core values is to find the win/win situation with people so that everyone is stoked doing excelent work while maintaining good vibes on the land. We also value effective communication so that everyone’s needs are addressed, thoughts valued, and expectations managed. We have benefitted greatly from the social/cultural exchange of hosting amazing people.

No Smokers, heavy drinkers, or addicts please.

It can be a real challenge for tourists to learn about Hawaiian history or connect with the culture in an authentic way because Hawaii has been so commercialized. Did you know that Hawaii was and still is a sovereign nation? While here we will share with you the concept of Ahupua'a and our land's role in it. You will have access to recomended Hawaiian books. We can teach you about the Hawaiian plants we grow, their role in the culture, and the sacred nature of Honolua. We are founding members of the Save Honolua Coalition and helped save the surrounding area from commercial development and had it made into a State park. We actually worked with the State to develop an amazing plan for the design and ongoing care of the park.

We basically have 3 categories of work that we need help with:

    * Farming (weeding, weed whacking, planting, harvesting, watering, spreading mulch, sifting compost)

    * Food Industry/Customer Service (Making and selling banana bread and lemonade for our farm stand)

    * Construction (Building, wood working, plumbing, electrical, tractor operation, chain saw)

We will hire you as an employee so you will need to have a U.S. passport or a U.S. drivers license along with a social security card or a birth certificate. For all categories of work, pay will be $12/hr for all hours worked doing any job for us. There are opportunities for tips. You will need to buy your own food.

You will be expected to work 24 hours/week. With some planning we can make a schedule that accommodates the experiences you want to have on Maui. We prefer to start with a 6 week commitment but have had people stay with us for years!

You will have your own 8x8’ tent on a raised platform w/ canopy to keep the rain and sun off or possibly a room in our tinyhome or wagon. There is a common area with kitchen, sofa, and hot water shower.

There are great beaches, hikes, and snorkel spots within walking distance of the farm. When you want to explore other parts of the island, you will need to catch a ride to the bus stop which is located 3 miles away at Napili Market. Or its a $7 Uber. For info on bus routes, check out the public transit section on Google Maps or search “maui bus”. To see Hana, Haleakala, Twin Falls, I’ao Valley, drum circles, and other places like that, you will need to rent a car or find a friend with a car because the bus does not go there.

Keep in mind we have lots of bugs and critters in hawaii including mosquitos, spiders, cockroaches, mice, feral chickens & feral cats. The tents are great because they seal up and keep the critters out. Wild roosters often “kock a doodle do” at night. We live off the grid so our solar electrical system is prone to outages especially on rainy days. We turn the power off at night. It is a very off grid experience.

Regarding cell phone service on our land... Verizon works well. T-mobile works so so. Sprint & ATT don't work at all. We have pretty good high speed Internet thanks to Starlink. We do turn the power off overnight starting around 9pm usually.
