I live about 7 miles outside of town on a 'very small' smallholding. There are various garden areas and about an acre field. There is a vegetable area and large agricultural buildings.
I have been here around 18 months having lived abroad for 14 years.
I have done a fair bit to the garden area and the field is now securely fenced as I have 6 rescue dogs. I now want to start work on the barns and a few other things.
I want to build a large outdoor chicken coop/run. As well as an indoor coop for them for night.
One half of the barn has been used for cows in the past and I need to angle grind out all the old cow byres. My aim is to make one large space and then build 4 or 5 dog kennels as still very involved in dog rescue.
There is a gate to build (fairly simple from wood I have and fencing material I have) and hang it to separate off one area of the barn. There is a table to put back together. There is the outside walls of the barn to paint (weather dependent) and some large planters I want to build down side of the barn. There is an area to cement so the rats cannot dig up under the compost bins and I want to make a base for a greenhouse. Lots of branches to chop for kindling and if you are ok with a chainsaw, then there are large bits to chop.
There are two kitchens to fit - these came out of my mum's house she is renovating. I want to re-purpose one for the barn and one for the utility room in the house for storage. No plumbing etc needed, just making units fit.
And there is always weeding to do, grass to cut if it's dry.
I tend to be at work a fair bit during week so if you are around the dogs can be out with you. Occasionally I may need to go away for work for a night or two and then the dogs need feeding, letting in and out etc. [In September/October I will need to be away for longer periods - couple of weeks so will need dog care].
Accommodation - I have a special separate gravel area you can park a camper or caravan (nothing massive or will not get up the drive) with access to water and electric (and bathroom and washing machine as needed) or there is a double room with ow bathroom.
Happy to accommodate vegetarians but would prefer not vegan. I eat meat and will continue to do so but equally happy with mostly vegetarian meals. However, there will be meat in the fridge and freezer and my dogs eat a diet of offal, meat and bones as well as canned food. You are welcome to cook or I can (not killed anyone yet).
Sorry its not possible to bring your own dog as my pack take careful management and some are very nervous and its not fair to bring an unknown dog into the household.
Please let me know if you have specific skills, what jobs you could or would like to do, a bit about you, how long you would like to come for etc....it is not just cuddling dogs and dog care. This is needed as and when I go away but mostly I need DIY/building and carpentry work - kitchens fitted, cementing a base for greenhouse and compost bins, chicken coop building.....and if you are arty, there are several plastic barrels I want painting as planters.
If weather nice we can have BBQs, you are welcome to walk the dogs (they cannot go off lead) , welcome to come binge watch various series on Netflix over a bottle of wine or some beers!!! I hope to make it a fun, happy experience where you leave as a friend and re-visit, but do expect hard work for 4 or 5 hours a day or you can do 3 full days and then take a couple of days off etc.....loads of walking around here. Happy to run you into town when I go in. I live in an amazing place with fantastic views (when its nice weather) but its the Lake District on a hill so when its bleak, its bleak!

Have high speed fibre optic broadband although due to thick walls of house it does not always work brilliantly in all rooms and have extenders through out house. And your work must fit around work I want doing. Plus I work from home and have my office in one room. Would need to work in your room.
Yes so long as not massive, but large hard-cored standing area with access to water and power in barn.
