Hannah and Cria are just wonderful. They helped us with so much enthusiasm in so many ways - and in all weathers. They were a delight to have about the place, always cheerful. interesting and fun to talk to. We were so glad their journey of exploration came by us for 3 weeks and we really look forward to meeting them both again before long.

We spent three weeks volunteering here and we had a wonderful experience! Louise and Paul were such welcoming and warm hosts and we enjoyed getting to know them immensely. Olivia was the perfect person for the role and we were very lucky to get her. In spite of being from tropical Australia she adapted very cheerfully to life in a rather cold Scottish house in winter. I worked here for two months as a housekeeper/general assistant and had an absolutely incredible time. The hosts (Linda and Paul) are two of the funniest, smartest, and most generous people I have ever met - the other Workaways and I regularly joined them for drinks and dinner in their private living quarters. I spent a wonderful five weeks with Louise and Paul on their estate helping with mainly cleaning for holiday accommodation and a variety of other jobs such as gardening. Thank you very much Louise and Paul for opening up your home to me! I spent 3 weeks helping to repair the roof with the constructionist Dick and had a great time. Dick provides very clear direction and lots of teaching throughout. It was so mice to feel like a workaway family over meals with Louise, Paul, and the other volunteers Mika and Stefan.

My two months with the host have come to an end and leaving feels like waking up from a strange dream. My heart is brimming with memories: of the people I have met and the stories they have shared, of browsing bookshelves where I want to read every single book, of climbing the hills at dusk to watch waves of jackdaws roll across the fields and

I stayed in a bedroom in the castle and cooked my own food in return for 15 hours of work a week, which meant I had lots of time for my own freelance work. The tasks were varied, from lighting stoves and cleaning yurts to painting signs and building a workshop, and all the building work was supervised by Dick, a very friendly builder and a great teacher.
I am so grateful for my time here and I think I have only begun to realize what a profound impact these months will have on my life.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Gaultier was very polite and hard working. He worked with other volunteers to help us to take our ecotourism project near to completion. He was always very helpful in the house as well and was generally a joy to have about the place. Highly recommended.

Great workaway experience!
Together with a group of other volunteers I constructed two yurts under the leadership of the experienced builder Dick. If there were too many people involved we sometimes had to do other little jobs such as removing fences, splitting logs or washing windows. Nothing too hard, and everything goes with a very relaxing

This is a beautiful estate where Louise and Paul are rewildering some of there land to make room for beavers and other wildlife. They were very gentle and talkative, and always very helpful.
There a lots of hikes to do, especially the cateran trail, which goes through the estate, and there are mountains, hills and waterfalls in the neighborhood.
Thanks for the memories!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

I've spend two wonderful weeks with Paul, Louise and the others volunteers. They are nice, interesting and funny! I spent two weeks here helping to build a beaver-viewing hideaway along with other volunteers and it has been a brilliant experience.
The help: 5 hours a day 5 days a week. These hours are fair and I was never pressured to do above or beyond them. For this particular project, I helped with Dick, an experienced builder, so there was lots of
… read more support and guidance for a novice like me. Helping hours were generally 9-3 with an hour or so for lunch.
The accommodation: I stayed in one of the many bedrooms and privacy was never a problem. Bedding and towel provided. There is a good shower and do-it-yourself laundry facilities.
The social side: This was a great place to meet other volunteers and make new friends. Paul, Louise, the rest of the family and all other residents and guests are delightful, extremely welcoming and definitely great company. We had many interesting and funny conversations and learned a lot about local politics, beavers and the history of the estate.
The food: Self-service breakfast of cereals, fruit, toast tea and coffee etc. Lunch is at 12.30-1pm and is usually something warm and filling. Dinner is around 8pm and is always delicious. If you are vegetarian, vegan, have allergies or intolerances, never fear! Paul and Louise are wonderful and will do whatever they can to ensure you eat well.
Things to do: The closest village (Alyth) is about 50 minutes to 1 hour's walk away and you can either follow a section of the Cateran trail or take the Den of Alyth. Both are lovely walks. However, a lift into the village for supplies or to catch the bus is often available. There are great walks all around the estate, plenty of wildlife and there's always the opportunity to help with some political campaigning too. There's a couple of pubs in Alyth but nothing too wild!
If you are in search of an interesting place to live where you can meet caring hosts and friendly people, have the opportunity to learn new skills and be outside, this is the place for you. There are currently plans for a volunteer common room too so things can only get better!
All that is left to say is an enormous thank you to the all the family and good luck for the future. I am certain we shall meet again one day.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.
