Descripción
Our centre is in North Cork. It is a not for profit organisation. The centre is part of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
We have a resident nun who runs the centre ,teaches meditation and leads the prayer sessions. We have 1 resident as well. We have 2 retreat rooms and one room for a volunteer.
The centre is in Banteer village . The train stops here so traveling around Ireland is easy. The centre is attractive to people who would like to learn and practice meditation as well as those who want to learn about Buddhism. It will suit someone who enjoys a quiet life .
We have a lovely park with pond at the top of the lane.

People who travel are on a journey. As Buddhist s we believe that the essential journey is an inward one. What we are really looking for can only be found within. So if you are ready for that inward journey Centre may be just the place for you!
There will be the opportunity to learn and practice meditation if you wish. All our events may be attended by you free of charge as part of our exchange offering. We have a resident school teacher so if you need help with English she will be happy to help. While you are here you will be part of our Buddhist family.
Ayuda
We ask 20hrs per week of our workaway (15 hrs if she/ he engages in personal meditation/ personal spiritual practice) The hours are mostly flexible with plenty of personal time. Our volunteer will be asked to do only tasks they enjoy so there is choice. You can choose to garden, cook, help with general day to day upkeep of the temple and centre.
We have a dog so loving animals is a must! You may be asked to feed or walk our animal resident from time to time.

You will have your own room. You will share a bathroom with 1 or 2 others.
You will have use of the Internet and the living room where there is a television. Yes we are that kind of Buddhist Centre!
Food will be provided for you . You can choose to take turns cooking or cook for yourself. You may cook meat ! You will have the use of the temple for meditation. You may have a friend to stay as our guest free of charge 4 nights per month.
No smoking drinking alcohol or taking of non prescribed drugs is allowed at the centre. You may of course enjoy alcohol in pubs and clubs .

Our volunteer has the use of a bike . The local town is 4km.away. The beautiful Mt hilary is also 4km away. Killarney Dubin, Cork etc are easily visited by train. The centre is 5minutes walk from the station. If you want to find a paying job away from the centre we will do our best to facilitate that with flexible hours.
