    We live in the heart of Ireland 3km outside nearest town and 2 minutes from the M6 motorway. Iur property is on just over an acre of land with a couple of polytunnels and some fruit trees. We live surrounded by nature close to beautiful walks in the local boglands. We have very good bus routes just 2km away that will bring you directly to tge cities of Galway or Dublin.

    Ballinasloe October Fair: This annual event is reputedly the oldest horse fair in Europe, dating back to the 18th century or earlier, and draws international crowds every October.

    An annual festival celebrating traditional Irish music with live concerts, workshops, and historical lectures.
    Town and Heritage:
    The name Ballinasloe translates from the Irish Béal Átha na Sluaighe, meaning "mouth of the ford of the crowds" or "hostings," reflecting its historic role as a gathering place.
    Local Heritage and Landmarks
    Clonfert Cathedral: Located a short distance away, this 11th-century site features a famous, highly ornate Romanesque doorway.
    Clontuskert Augustinian Friary: A serene medieval ruin situated just outside the town.

    Ballinasloe town on the River Suck and a northerly extension of the Grand Canal. Originally a small settlement beside the medieval castle guarding the important Suck crossing, the town was developed mainly in the 18th century. It is the main market town of east County Galway and is noted for its livestock fairs, the largest in Ireland, which reached a peak in the mid-19th century. The famous local quarries supplied the masonry for a street of shop fronts in New York City. It is also an important angling centre. Pop. (2002) 5,984; (2011) 6,449.
