If you enjoy cooking/baking, it can be one of your tasks. In return during your stay, you will enjoy being part of our family and have lots of time to explore beautiful Victoria and Vancouver Island. *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️
We are a young family with three energetic teens now ages 19, 16, 14 years. We have lived, studied &/or worked in the US, Canada, Asia and Europe.
We have a busy household with the teens after school activities and sports.
As a family, we love to travel and discover new places and meet new people.
When you write to us, please let us know a bit about yourself. How many in your family? Do you live in the city or country? What do you like to do when you are not working or studying? Do you have any special talents ie soccer or crocheting, for example?
We receive multiple requests on average per month. Thus, the more detailed your introductory email to us, the better.

At this time, we need help with spring garden clean-up, cooking/baking and painting of fence, as time and weather permits.
We love to eat and would love to share our favorite recipes with you. AND, if you like, we'd like to learn some new dishes from you!
We would be flexible with the volunteer work you can provide. We appreciate your positive energy and ability to work independently.
If you love to cook, you could have full reign of the kitchen. If you enjoy kids, you will enjoy our household.
Two of us are vegetarians. Three of us are flextarians which means we eat meat/fish and are flexible to the vegetarian diet.

We live on an enchanting half acre property by a lake, surrounded by many trails, on a mountain in the city of Victoria.
We have had exchange students in the past and have been exchange students ourselves so we have a good understanding of cultural diversity and communication. If you are looking to have a language and cultural exchange with a gregarious group, we are the family for you.
We have hosted many workaways when the kids were younger and we are ready to host again.
HOW TO GET TO US:
Whichever way to get to us, please email in advance and advise when you will be arriving in the area so we can pick you up or expect you at the house.
Please take the ferry to Swartz Bay (Victoria) sometime before noon.
Take a bus to the Tsawassen ferry which takes you to Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island. ($20 walk-on)
Suggestion to take 11am, 1pm.
Then bus 70 or 72 towards downtown Victoria. ($5.00)
Get off at at Uptown Mall, then take bus 95 or 61 towards Colwood/Langford. (Ask the bus driver)
Get off when you see Rexall Pharmacy (1800 Island Hwy, Colwood) when the bus turns on Goldstream Avenue. Go inside and we will pick you up there. Please confirm time of arrival.

It was a real pleasure to stay with Boleyn, Robert and their lively and friendly children! The work was good and we got to see some fantastic things in the area. We miss you guys but we hope to come back one day!!

Ben and Christie were with us for just a week. But they got so much accomplished such as prepping and staining our decks, weeding, prepping our garden pathways, gardening, etc. The kids enjoyed C's baking of apple pie and rhubarb pie. YUMMY! Mike stayed with us for almost a month. He got a lot of things done such as installing a drip irrigation for our garden, making some bird houses, painting indoors and outdoors, fortifying the tree fort, mowing the lawn, cooking gourmet meals, tuning up our bikes. It was a great pleasure for us to stay at Boleyns house. We had a wondeful time with the whole family. We are really lucky to had such a good first workawayexperience. The projects were a lot of fun and the food was always very delicious. Thanks for the great time and we wish you all the best!

Thanks for giving us such a positive first workaway experience. Max and Natalja are a delight! Such hard workers with a vision and did what was needed to get the job done.
