  Hi there!
  We’re a family of six: Pau and Max (our children, aged 3 and 5), Maki (our dog), Koa (a dog we’ve just adopted), and us—the parents, Álvaro and Núria.
  We live in a rural setting, right in the middle of the forest, yet only a 15-minute drive from the city of Manresa. Here you can enjoy all the benefits of country living and its peaceful rhythm, while still having the city close by for anything you might need—leisure activities, a gym, language courses, and more.
  Since they were babies, our children have had a nanny who spoke to them exclusively in English. At the moment, we have an American au pair with whom they practice English every day. We’ve loved the experience so much that we’ve decided to repeat it with someone new. We truly believe this is a wonderful way for our children to deepen their English skills and a rich cultural exchange for the whole family. If possible, we’d love for you to have an American accent.
  If you enjoy peace and quiet, being close to nature, and outdoor sports, this will be the perfect place for you. At the same time, everything is within easy reach: Barcelona is just one hour away by car, ski resorts are about 1.5 hours away, and the beach is roughly an hour’s drive too.

  Somos una familia de 6: Pau y Max (nuestros hijos de 3 y 5 años), Maki (nuestra perra) Koa (un perro que acabamos de adoptar) y los padres, (Álvaro y Núria).
  Vivimos en un entorno rural, en medio del bosque, pero a 15 minutos en coche de la ciudad de Manresa. Podrás disfrutar de todas las ventajas de vivir en un entorno rural y su tranquilidad, a la vez que tienes cerca la ciudad para todo lo que necesites: ocio, gimnasio, posibilidad de hacer cursos de idiomas...
  Desde que son bebés, nuestros hijos han tenido una niñera que sólo les ha hablado en inglés, y, actualmente tenemos una au pair americana con la que están practicando a diario, y como estamos disfrutando tanto con la experiencia, hemos decidido repetir con otra persona. Creemos que es una forma que los niños profundicen con el inglés y es un enriquecimiento cultural para toda la familia. Nos gustaría que tuvieras acento americano a poder ser.
  
  Si te gusta la tranquilidad, contacto con la naturaleza y los deportes al aire libre, éste será tu sitio ideal. Pero a la vez, nada está lejos, Barcelona, a 1h en coche, Pistas de esquí a 1,5h, playas a 1h aprox.

  In our home, daily life is very close-knit and family-oriented. We love spending time together in simple, meaningful ways: walks in the forest with our dogs, outdoor play with the children, storytime in the afternoons, arts and crafts, sports, cooking together, and exploring the surrounding area. We also enjoy sharing the local environment, the nearby village, local markets, and regional traditions.
  
  We can share our experience of living in a rural setting, respectful parenting with young children, family organization, and educational and creative activities adapted to their age.
  
  We strongly believe in cultural exchange as a genuine and valuable way of learning. By welcoming people from other cultures into our home, we hope to learn new ways of seeing the world, along with different traditions, customs, languages, and ways of relating to one another. For us, this is a deeply enriching experience as a family and especially important for our children, as it helps them grow up with an open, natural, and respectful mindset toward diversity.

  En nuestra casa la convivencia es muy cercana y familiar. Nos gusta compartir tiempo juntos en el día a día: paseos por el bosque con los perros, juegos al aire libre con los niños, tardes de cuentos, manualidades, deportes, cocinar juntos y hacer excursiones por la zona. También nos encanta dar a conocer el entorno local, el pueblo cercano, los mercados y las tradiciones de la zona.
  
  Podemos compartir nuestra experiencia de vida en un entorno rural, la crianza respetuosa de niños pequeños, la organización familiar y actividades educativas y creativas adaptadas a su edad.
  
  Creemos profundamente en el intercambio cultural como una forma real y valiosa de aprendizaje. Al acoger personas de otras culturas esperamos aprender nuevas formas de ver el mundo, tradiciones, costumbres, idiomas y maneras de relacionarse. Para nosotros es una experiencia muy enriquecedora como familia y especialmente importante para nuestros hijos, ya que les ayuda a crecer con una mentalidad abierta, natural y respetuosa hacia la diversidad.

  We’re looking for a young woman who speaks English fluently (preferably a native speaker) to communicate with our children, and who truly enjoys interacting with young kids—whether that’s playing sports, telling stories and inventing characters through dress-up, doing puzzles and building activities, playing with Playmobil… and who also loves nature.
  
  It’s important to us that she is a polite, sociable, and respectful person, active by nature, and with experience and skills in caring for children this young. On our side, we’ll always do our best to make you feel comfortable and at ease, as we’re a close-knit, warm family. We deeply value privacy and rest days or holidays, but we’ll also be happy to make plans and spend time together as a family.
  
  Having a valid driving license is essential, as getting around here is only possible by car. We can provide you with a car for getting around, and if we organize things well, also for your days off, so you can move around with complete freedom.
  
  On the other hand, we ask for professionalism, honesty, and full attention to our children, who are the most important thing in our lives.
  
  We’re looking for someone who wants to truly become part of the family—another member of the team, someone we can fully trust. We’ll welcome you as one of our own and hope you’ll feel completely at home and enjoy the experience.

  Buscamos a una chica que hable perfectamente inglés (preferiblemente nativa) para comunicarse con nuestros hijos, y que disfrute interactuando con niños pequeños, ya sea jugando a algún deporte, contar cuentos y crear historias disfrazándose, haciendo puzzles y construcciones, jugar con playmobils... y le guste la naturaleza. Es importante que sea una persona educada, sociable, respetuosa, que sea activa, además de tener experiencia y habilidades para tratar con niños tan pequeños. Por nuestra parte, intentaremos que siempre se sienta a gusto, ya que somos una familia cercana y familiar. Para nosotros es muy importante respetar la privacidad y los días de descanso o vacaciones, pero nos encantará hacer planes todos juntos. Es imprescindible que disponga de carnet de conducir, porque aquí sólo te puedes mover en coche. Te podemos dejar un coche para moverte, incluso si nos organizamos, para los días que tenga fiesta y puedas moverte con total libertad.
  
  Por otro lado, pedimos profesionalidad, sinceridad y plena atención a nuestros hijos, que para nosotros son lo más importante.
  
  Queremos una chica que se integre en la familia, que sea una persona más del equipo y con quien tengamos total confianza, la acogeremos como alguien de casa y esperamos que se sienta como en su propio hogar y lo disfrute.

  Este anfitrión ofrece intercambio de idiomas
  En casa con los niños hablamos el catalán y entre nosotros (los adultos) hablamos en español. Los niños, está aprendiendo el inglés con la niñera que han tenido de bebés y, ahora, con la experiencia de la au pair. Pau, entiende bastante bien el inglés, pero le cuesta hablarlo, normalmente responde en español, por lo que creemos que, sería interante que la persona que venga mínimo tenga un A2 o B1 de español.

  Alojamiento

  You’ll have your own room inside the house, with a trundle bed, a wardrobe, and we’ll provide whatever you may need to feel comfortable. We have two bathrooms: one is inside Álvaro’s and my bedroom and is used by us, and the other is usually used by the children and would be shared with you.
  
  You’ll have access to the shared areas of the house as a full member of the family, except for the office, which is our workspace and is usually quite busy.
  
  We live in the middle of the forest and have 13,000 m² of fenced woodland where you can do activities, exercise, practice yoga, paint, or simply enjoy whatever you feel like doing. Our garden has beautiful views that bring a lot of peace and calm.
  
  Please keep in mind that we live with two dogs, so it’s important that you like dogs—they are both very sociable and affectionate.
  
  There are also many trails nearby if you enjoy running, walking, cycling, or climbing. If there’s any specific activity you like, we’ll be happy to guide you on where you can go or practice it during your free time.
  
  Regarding meals, we can go grocery shopping together if you’d like, so you can choose what you prefer. Afterwards, you can either cook your own meals or we can also share meals together.
  
  Our main dietary considerations are that Álvaro is vegetarian and the children are celiac (they do not eat gluten), so we need to be careful about cross-contamination.

  Podrás vivir en una habitación dentro de casa, con una cama nido, armario y pondremos a tu disposición lo que necesites. Tenemos 2 baños, uno lo usamos Álvaro y yo porque está dentro de nuestra habitación, y el otro, es el que suelen usar los niños y que compartirían contigo. Tendrás acceso a los espacios de la casa como uno más, excepto el despacho que es donde trabajamos y suele estar más ocupado. Vivimos en medio del bosque, por lo que, disponemos de 13.000m2 de bosque vallados para hacer actividades, deporte, yoga, pintar, lo que te apetezca.
  Nuestro jardín tiene unas vistas muy bonitas que dan mucha paz y tranquilidad.
  Recuerda que, vivimos con 2 perros, es importante que te gusten, ambos son muuuy sociables y cariñosos.
  Además, hay muchos senderos cerca por si te gusta correr, pasear, ir en bici o escalar. Si hay alguna actividad en concreto que te guste, podemos orientarte por dónde puedes ir o practicar en tus ratos libres.
  Sobre las comidas, podemos ir juntos a hacer la compra si te apetece, y así poder escoger qué es lo que quieres, y luego, o bien cocinas tus comidas o, también podemos compartir. Nuestras limitaciones con las comidas es que: Álvaro es vegetariano y los niños son celíacos (no comen gluten) y hay que vigilar contaminaciones.
