Descripción
We are Annette and Wolfgang and we have a large house with a garden near Düsseldorf/Cologne. Our children on the photo moved out years ago. It's a very quiet, rural location with two small towns nearby. There's always something to do in the garden and around the house.

By staying with us, Workawayers will experience a cultural exchange, rooted in a sense of community and shared interests. As retired professionals – a teacher and a social worker – we value conversation and learning from others. We are passionate about creating a warm and inclusive environment where visitors can feel like an part of our family.
We also value creativity with a love for music, culture, and language. With us, you can learn German in a relaxed atmosphere.
Also if you’re a music enthusiast, you’ll feel right at home here – we have a variety of instruments available, including guitars, a piano, flutes and more. We also like to sing and laugh together.
We ourselves, also enjoy exploring the Niederrhein region. From our home it is possible to do cycling tours to nearby areas ( example: the Netherlands) Visits to regional art exhibitions and local cultural events add further value to the exchange.
We are lifelong learners and find great inspiration in the perspectives of new people. Having travelled widely and raised four children, we bring a wealth of experience and stories to share, but we also look forward to learning about your world, ideas, and skills. We hope your time with us will leave you with some new memories.

There is always something to do in the garden and in the house. Smaller building projects or many different help in the garden is needed. Your creative ideas are welcome and can also be implemented. But it's all a very relaxed atmosphere and we are also lucky to have someone who likes to be here and enjoys the peace and quiet.

We have several rooms, with free beds, WIFI and shared bathroom. A bicycle can be provided.
Food will be part of the exchange experience with us, and we see it as a wonderful way to share and learn from one another. We love cooking and preparing meals together. Our focus is on healthy eating and our diet is mostly vegetarian. We enjoy using fresh, seasonal, and locally ingredients.
At the same time, we are always open to exploring new international recipes , and we would be delighted if you shared your favourite dish or culinary traditions with us. We hope that you will enjoy the meals we share but also take away new cooking inspiration from your time with us.
