  Hello there!
  
  We are Kathi and Leo, a German-Chilean couple living on a beautiful 10-hectare property just outside Pucón, in Southern Chile.
  
  The land has been in Kathi’s family for many years. After spending around 20 years in Germany, including working in Munich, she came back to Chile to take over the property and start a new chapter here. Leo is Chilean, and together we are slowly developing the place into our home and a space for different nature-based projects.
  
  Our life here is very connected to the land. We have forests, meadows, gardens and different areas of the property that need regular care and attention. There is always something to do, and the projects change depending on the season and what needs to be done.
  
  We are looking for independent, responsible and hands-on people who genuinely enjoy being outdoors.
  
  This is not a city-based or mainly social Workaway. Most of the help is practical and outdoors, and we are looking for people who enjoy working with their hands, learning as they go and getting involved in the different things that come up around the property.
  
  We usually host one person, a couple or two friends, with a maximum of two Workawayers at a time.
  
  We work as a small team together with Narsi, our permanent worker, who lives on the property. Some projects are done together, while others can be done independently once we have explained what needs to be done.
  
  If you enjoy nature, physical work, a peaceful rural environment and having some freedom to take initiative, you may feel very much at home here.

  For us, cultural exchange happens mostly through everyday life rather than through organised activities.
  
  We are a German-Chilean couple, so you will get to experience both sides of our life here in Chile and become part of our daily routine during your stay.
  
  Spanish practice: Narsi, our permanent worker, is a local from the area and speaks Spanish. Working alongside him is a great opportunity to practice Spanish naturally in everyday situations.
  
  Sharing food: We usually cook and share one main meal together each day, normally lunch. We enjoy sharing Chilean food and traditions, including the occasional asado.
  
  Learning from the land: We are happy to share what we know about gardening, working with the land and maintaining the property and forest.
  
  And of course, the exchange goes both ways. We are always curious to learn about our volunteers’ countries, experiences, skills and ways of doing things.

  Ayuda

  The help we need is mainly outdoor, practical and hands-on.
  
  We usually ask for around 4–5 hours of help per day, 5 days per week. We also try to be flexible: if you prefer to have an additional full day off and work a longer day instead, we are happy to discuss an arrangement that works for everyone.
  
  Our current priority is getting the property ready for the summer season. Depending on the weather and what needs attention, tasks may include:

  Clearing overgrown areas
  Maintaining paths, forest areas and meadows

  Preparing and fertilising the garden

  Cleaning and preparing the pool
  Painting the pool in November
  Preparing the surrounding area for summer

  Some tasks are done together with us or with Narsi, our permanent worker. Other tasks can be done independently once we have explained what needs to be done.
  
  We especially appreciate people who are proactive and can take initiative rather than needing constant supervision.
  
  You don't need to be a professional builder or gardener. However, being practical, good with your hands and willing to learn is important. Experience with construction, carpentry, gardening, landscaping, painting, mechanics or other practical skills is always a big plus.
  
  Most of the work is outdoors, so you should genuinely enjoy being outside and be comfortable with mud, dust and changing weather. We obviously adapt the work to the conditions, but a bit of rain is part of life here and doesn't necessarily mean a day off.
  
  We provide the necessary tools and explain each task before you start.

  You will have your own private cabin on the property.
  
  The cabin is a comfortable and independent space where you can relax and enjoy your privacy after a day outdoors. It has its own kitchen and bathroom, so you can prepare your own breakfast and dinner according to your schedule.
  
  We provide the groceries for breakfast and dinner, and we usually share one main meal together each day, normally lunch. We see this shared meal as an important part of the exchange and enjoy taking the time to eat and chat together.
  
  During the warmer months, you are also welcome to use our swimming pool during your free time.

  When you're not working, there is plenty to explore around Pucón.
  
  Our property is surrounded by beautiful nature, with lakes, forests, volcanoes, national parks and natural hot springs nearby. The area is ideal for people who enjoy hiking, outdoor activities, cycling, photography or simply spending time in nature.
  
  We are in a peaceful rural location without public transport directly outside the property. We regularly drive into Pucón and are happy to give you a lift when our plans coincide.
  
  From time to time, we may also be able to lend you a car for a day trip, depending on our schedule and availability. Fuel would be at your expense.
  
  We normally host for 1–2 weeks, although we are open to discussing a longer stay if we are a good fit for each other.
  
  We have good internet through fibre optics, although occasional interruptions can happen in our rural location.
  
  We live a quiet and nature-focused lifestyle and appreciate volunteers who are comfortable with that. We ask everyone staying with us to be respectful of the property, shared spaces, food, water and energy.
  
  If you are looking for a peaceful place in nature, enjoy practical outdoor work and like having some independence during your free time, this could be a good fit.

  Depending on your digital needs, we can offer a good internet connection via fiber optics. However, please be aware that we are in a rural area, and the service can occasionally be unstable or experience brief outages. We recommend this setup for tasks like emails, messaging, and moderate browsing, but we cannot guarantee the consistent high-speed reliability required for heavy-duty video conferencing or large file transfers.
